Nigger's about to get a dishonorable discharge.
Yes, he will be court-martialed and dismissed from the service. For an officer, that's the same as a dishonorable discharge. No pension, no veterans' benefits. 17 years in and he throws it all away, for nothing. He can rest assured Al Green can do nothing to save him.
This disgrace to the uniform, same one I so proudly wore, is a logistics officer, no aircrew wings. Decorations look pretty standard, counted four individual decorations, the one at the top and the three in a row right under it. All the rest of the ribbons were the "I was there" type. Don't recognize some of the ribbons but I have been retired for 27 years.
His employment options after being kicked out of the service will be slim and none. If he is married, hope his wife has a good job and they have no kids. Otherwise, that family's fucked, and I feel very sorry for the family.
His base pay is $10,401.60/month. He also gets $316/month food allowance for himself, should also be collecting a hefty housing allowance, both non-taxable. Had he waited just three more years he would likely have gotten a pension of at least $5200/month. Retirement system has changed many times over the years, for the sake of argument use the system I am in - 50% of base pay at 20, then extra 2.5% for every year after that.
A major with 17 years in, unless he has prior enlisted time, would normally not be on active duty as a regular officer. Assuming no enlisted time, four years to captain from commissioning, then six or seven years to major after making captain, so that's 10-11 years. Once you make major, you come into the primary zone for lieutenant colonel about three years after making major, so 13-14 years. The AF is up-or-out. If you don't make lieutenant colonel in the primary zone, you get one more shot 'above the zone' the next year. If you don't make it then, and the odds are slim, you normally have to leave the service or retire if you have enough time in thanks to prior enlisted time. With 17 years in, this guy would seem to have some enlisted time.
We saw the video a while back of the airman who set himself on fire. Least his demise was quick. This fuckwagon will likely have many years to regret his public career suicide. Lofty ideals don't put food on the table or a roof over your family's head. And doing this publicly means no high-up former boss can take him in and stash him in a not-shit job until he makes 20 years.
Makes me sick to my stomach thinking how someone can fuck his family over this way; think I may have seen a wedding ring on his hand.
