Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

China's much better at massive, multi-sided civil wars and enormous famines than they have ever been at foreign military adventurism. If I had to bet money on the next half-century, I'd lay money that China goes through yet another of their many cycles of warlordism, civil war, and famine. That's a much more likely bet than a strong central authority either maintaining control over China or gaining lasting power over foreign areas.

Another interesting thing to consider is that the Chinese central authorities, like the USSR authorities before them, may well have no clear, accurate view of what is happening at lower levels. Everyone lies, and everyone lies upwards. China is the land of the little lie that covers a big problem, but saves face.
China shares another problem with the USSR that I have mentioned before. Personal Initiative has been ruthlessly and efficiently beaten out of its populace. They simply cannot make decisions in the field, everything must come from a higher up source.

The abortion issue interests me, because there has been a third side emerging. It's not just pro-life vs. pro-choice. There is now a pro-abortion side as well.

When I was in my youth and 100% pro-choice, it was with the understanding that third trimeter abortions were absolute no-nos unless someone's life was in danger. No matter "when" you think life starts, the baby is fully alive at 22 weeks or so.

Now we have pro-abortion people that think abortion should be legal up to the point the woman goes into labor. Combined with the fact that they are teaching young women that they "need" abortion because a baby will ruin their lives, even in their 20s and married.

I have no idea if anything will change, or it's just the inevitable result of everything being more polarized, but it fascinates me.
The Pro-Choice side is the Pro-Abortion side. This isn't just being flippant, there is so much crossover and an absolute unwillingness to condemn it from the Pro-Choice side that the two entities are indistinguishable to anyone without a concrete opinion, let alone Pro-Life.
I hate the fact that this what pro-choice is .

Not to be autistic but glad china started the clock on babby pods/designer/lab grown babbies.

Then here's hoping the crazies radicalising the old normie pro-choice block will push some of the more reasonable ones toward the lagging pro-life side.

The great irony is that that is what the US Democrats want too: do what we tell you and no questions. Any opposition is a "conspiracy theory."

You and I both. I was nominally Pro-Choice for a long time, not as a serious belief but as a compromise between the right and left. The Left of course, in their mad desire to rule, broke the compromise and thus forced me into Pro-life by default.

It is never ending war for them too, isn't it? The middle east of the far east. From Jurchens to Mongols and to themselves. Never ending war.

The divide is growing. I'm seeing a lot more discontent and unwillingness to fight against pro-life legislation from the moderate pro-choice crowd because of how ghastly pro-abortion rhetoric has become over the last 10 years. The plural of anecdote isn't data, sure, but when I hear old-school pro-choice feminists living in Berkeley shrugging at the Texas legislation and wistfully saying "whatever happened to safe, legal, and rare?" when encountering modern pro-choice activism, there's clearly a drift happening.
They don't get representation from the politicians, who are ride-or-die on the ghoulish modern pro-abortion movement, but I think them saying the quiet part out loud for the past 10 years (and the legislative overreach that comes with it, like Ralph Northam floating the idea of post-birth abortions a few years ago) is a big part of why the reaction to Texas' new law was so weak and impotent.

I have seen Twatterati haw-hawing at people for "doing their own research", and the usual bullshit about horse paste or pool cleaner.

All those years of proclaiming themselves to be "free-thinkers" and "skeptics" have been ditched, now that free thinking and skepticism are directed at themselves and their masters.

I was seeing that as early as a year ago when I would post unedited videos that contradicted CNN and at least one person told me how stupid I was for "trusting raw journalism instead of CNN who have decades of experience in their fields." That was pretty much an exact quotation. Don't believe your lying eyes because you aren't a journalist.

Well Nicki Minaj is proof that all those white soycucks and dumb young white college aged femoids have no connection or idea of what Black America is. Im sure the neoliberals have lost touch with them as well. Biden won the primaries partly because of a major endorsement by James Clyburn, a uncle tom looking nigger that resembles Samuel L. Jackson's house slave character from Django Unchained.

And Nicki Minaj is more effective than Tucker at questioning this shit, since she is usually apolitical or doesn't dab in politics much and has a much wider audience compared to a political pundit like Tucker.

If you believe the exit polls, Trump GAINED in every single minority category and Biden officially won the election because the percentage of white male voters went from 31% to 38%. Biden won where Hillary couldn't (officially) because white men didn't want to vote for Hillary.

This was after 4 years of CNN screaming that Trump was the most racist president in history; his share of the minority vote INCREASED.

That was the compromise. Safe, Legal, and Rare. And the entire reason Pro-Choice had a very narrow majority was because of that compromise. Many didn't like it but felt it was equally distasteful to all sides.

Addendum: Related to fuck all, finally back in the office. Read, sitting at home next to a giant pile of faxed, yes despite being early adopters of technology we still fax for practical reasons, papers. Biden's at 37% approval according to our polls.

Trump really broke these people. I know Trump is gone now, but it really feels like Trump forced these people to show their true colors. The frog is no longer in the boiling pot; the left and the MSM are flat out spraying people with boiling water.

There is a concept of "extinction event" when it comes to dealing with narcissists when they feel like their power is slipping so they try "one last hurrah" to get everything back to normal. It really feels like that is what Biden and the Dems are trying to do right now. Maybe white pill, but it feels like the Dems think it's now or never in some ways.

I'm not 100% on that. It does feel like there is a rift between people that think abortion is a necessary evil and people that think it's necessary period.

I do agree though that the pro-life side will never condemn the pro-abortion side, but I feel like its for the same reason the trans movement thinks they can dominate women's spaces and everyone that opposes it is just transphobic. It feels more out of fear than actual agreement.
That was the best point Minaj made in her Instagram video: What are you so afraid of that I can't even ask a question? Once you realize "It's Afraid(TM)" none of their tactics to scare YOU work anymore.

Someone made a good point that exit polls only looked at the in-person crowd, which was probably slightly more conservative anyway. But the trend of Latinos HATING woke shit is definitely there in other places.

And because they have convinced themselves that "pro-choice" is an unflinching dedication to bodily autonomy, they think that a majority of people being "pro-choice" means they can push for abortion through all 9 months. "MOST PEOPLE AGREE WITH US." They don't, you just refuse to break down WHAT people mean when they say they are "pro-choice." It ain't anything beyond the first trimester, I can tell you that. The heartbeat bills are more in line with the majority!

I mean, Cubans were so pissed off that Florida was the first state decided. Even I was shocked at that. And the MSM refusing to call it for like 3 hours was hilarious.

I wasn't. While various Hispanics hate each other, they do tend to follow similar voting trends with Cubans being a notable outlier for conservativism. But Hispanics as a category is slowly inching up towards them. While not hardcore religious, Hispanics as a group are religious. Things like being Pro-Abortion horrify them. Generally, the exit polling can show -trends- but not really accurate -numbers-. If the GOP can continue to gain with all groups it can become highly competitive in otherwise assumed safe districts.

And the great thing is, all they have to do is nothing. The Democrats are the ones driving the change.

They waited until the day after to call the rest to ensure the election was secure.
Seriously, how the fuck did people buy that? It screamed bullshit. I forgot what happened to the investigation with the massive mountain of shit Biden fucked us on so quickly afterward.

The more fortification that is allowed, the more likely an assassination and/or unrest becomes.

These people aren't thinking things through. Just play the game by the stated process. And if you lose, you lose. Whatever. Just calling it like I see it. Though I understand that discussing reality is mostly verboten nowadays.
Doesn't matter if she did or not - she got what she wanted: a reaction that's vehemently pro-vaccine and admonishing her for "spreading misinformation", thereby proving her point that this shit is being shoved down our throats with no consideration towards whether people actually want it or not. Also that the media is willing to throw black people under the bus if they don't follow the narrative.
This proves another point. People nowadays will just listen to whatever is given to them with no deviation. Chiefly, celebrities and politicians.

Believe in China personal initiative is allowed only to the level the CCP permits. You see many new businesses launched all the time. But believe should these businesses get to a certain size, the CCP installs cadres to ensure control.

Having said that, the CCP is classic top-down. Not flexible, reactive instead of proactive. And the CCP devotes a huge amount of resources to stifling dissent. As things in China keep going south, believe the national level of anger will eventually overwhelm the CCP's ability to keep a lid on things. Communications in today's China are vastly easier and quicker than during the days of the end of the Soviet Union. Even if the CCP were to shut down their Internet/cell phone/landline networks, they couldn't do so until the damage had been done.
