People when people cannot define themselves by their tribe or nation, they turn to substitutes. Music genres and youthful rebellion largely acted as a substitute for nationalism and other forms of peer bonds, friendship circles formed around clubs and band concerts. It seems like grandpa logic, but a growing body of research confirms what we all suspect: Pop music is actually getting more and more homogeneous. A study, surveying more than 500,000 albums, showed simplicity just sells better across all music genres. As something becomes popular, it therefore becomes more formulaic. At first it was bands "selling out", then genres collapsing, but now everything is Pop.

Nowadays, without music to divide culture into smaller groups you can become attracted to, there is simply fitting into social movements online, its purely performative. Unfortunately, if everyone's just pretending to be 'cool' and 'hip' then whatever 'cool' and 'hip' mean spirals outward in one-upmanship tethered only by a sanity in the underlying culture. A culture which is getting more and more desperate at covering up the late-stages of the American Global Economy changing away from American Hyperpower in the 90's. A culture getting sick and lying to itself.

Society is sick and there is money to be made it driving it ever worse and worse, America socially will and is killing itself for its economy. Troons are just a sign of a greater problem which will end at least White America but likely the current borders in North America by 2070. 2035-2045 will determine the extent of the problem, but so far we're cruising straight for the cliff demographically.

Answering to question A is kinda difficult because the gender phenomenon has different causes and imho isn’t even completely organic. Why do young adults and teens hop on the gender train, you ask? to put it simply and to write this down in the shortest and quickest way possible: the world they were born into is being shat on in every possible way, they’re being fed propaganda since birth through media and the only culture they consume is “internet culture”. We also live in a somewhat sex crazed society. Those who don’t have parents who have the cultural and emotional means to handle the situation or are more vulnerable for whatever reason, are more or less doomed.

I've made a post about this in the "when did you hit peak trans" thread a long time ago. I'm almost 23, so I'm part of Gen Z, and what I've mentioned previously is that I believe LGBT politics have been heightened to levels I don't think most people were able to fathom. By the time I was in middle school (so mid 2010s) it was already peaking, I myself fell victim to the bisexual teen girl craze. Social media sites like Tumblr also pushed these ideas as well, before the porn ban it was a haven for yaoi/yuri artists (I swear there was more homosexual/"gender binary breaking" smut than hetero shit). By the time I was in high school it felt like it was already too late, as I was encountering people claiming to be "demisexual", or some other variation of a new "buzzword-sexual" alignment. The support for trannies was already there, and by the time I graduated, a good amount of my core high school friend group had fallen into some variation of a trans category. Whether they were a "non binary", or flat out transitioning into the "opposite sex".

It definitely is an issue of social media perversion. Too many people are too afraid these days to hear opposing views., they surround themselves in communities that absolutely must follow the rigid ideals that these LGBT fucks expect from others. Think trans stuff is icky? Then it's all on you, how dare you. Surround yourself long enough and accept all their bullshit, then not only will you "fit in" better, but it'll become easier to believe this shit too. The same people who I thought were true to themselves ended up lying to me. Going into the LGBT circle is just as much of a personality problem as it is a political problem. If it isn't bound to the dogmatic ideals of the crazed left, then you are a bigot, a nazi, and everything else in between to these freaks. To be a true "enby" is to believe gender is a spectrum that can be magically made up the same morning you awake. I don't know where you live, but it can't be in a town of even moderate size. You also can't have been on a college campus in the past decade.

I went to High School before genderspecials became this huge thing, and I knew of at least three people who identified as trans/non-binary. In college there were a decent number. Every class, even specialized ones with 15-20 people had a couple.

And it is pretty hard to take seriously the idea they don't exert real world influence when our current government is using troonshit in official capacity.

Hell, even in my home city, small and right-leaning, we have a couple of fucking troons. My parent's neighbor's kid trooned out and literally went door to door demanding money from people. It reads like a joke, and if anyone aside from my Mother told me I wouldn't have believed it

A) one of the reasons for Gen Z is because the influence from the previous generation, being super focused on race and gender instead of economics and health. As well, as the universal use of major social media, like Twitter, tik tok, and Reddit, making these freak's voices heard to a larger audience. The pandemic did not help that most Gen Z form of communication is through social media. Also, Gen Z being still young it is easier for predators and degenerates voices heard and young people to follow it like Gospel. Attracting other social outcasts or losers to their circles increasing them in size.
B) The birth rate is already kinda fucked in the west due to the expenses of getting a house and having enough money to eat.

I think there are multiple reasons why transgenderism has turned into a cultural phenomenon - the rise in a belief there is no link between biological sex and gender identity, social capital in belonging to an 'oppressed' or 'marginalised' community, an increasing demonization of masculinity with 'transitioning' offered as a way out, and so on. But if you don't understand transgenderism as simply one of many fad lifestyles that come and go all the time then you're on the wrong track, and probably giving the whole thing more thought than it really deserves.


This is one of the reasons I don't worry about it too much, in about 10-15 years we're going to start hearing tons of horror stories from people who eventually grew out of their "transgender phase" only to realise they have caused irreversible damage to their bodies. Hell, there are already plenty of people out there who have "detransitioned", desperately trying to sound the alarm bells who are mostly being ignored, but eventually those people will be in the majority.

tentatively agree, but like others have said, these people do exist IRL and they do exert a certain degree social influence. I think the split here is twofold: first, the social influence of this group is overblown due to annoying rich white people exerting it on their behalf (i.e. opinion writers, culture pundits, celebrities, and of course the idiot posting warriors who are themselves straight and cis patting themselves on the back for owning evil transphobes online); and second, the breaches where internet brain poisoning is leaking into reality are highly localized (and primarily coastal). I'm from the south and the region I'm in does not have these people walking the streets. although, as I posted in the peak trans thread, two of my friends from high school eventually went trans. however, I dated a girl from the tri-state area for a while, and one time while I was up there with her visiting her family, this exact point came up - that the tumblr gender shit only existed on the internet and had no actual footing in meatspace - and she said, let me take you to my college. she had graduated recently from an art college in a super rich district. and let me tell you, my head was sent fucking spinning.
