Considering the steps that actual game-making companies have had to take against people making fuckloads of money off of their properties and being one of the largest influences in people who buy games, it is pretty sad.
Probably the worst result of the trend are the games made just meant to be bait for these people. Everyone wants to make the next Surgeon Simulator or I Am Bread so they can get an e-famous Youtuber to play their game. Remember @SYRSA? He wanted them to play his game so badly he didn't give a shit no one could understand it.

James Rolf (the Angry Video Game Nerd) actually writes a script for, produces, and puts real thought and effort into his videos. LPers just record themselves playing a game and (irritatingly) talking over it. So I can see why someone with old-school sensibilities like the AVGN would agree with Kimmel here.
I personally love the way their trying to spin this in to saying their victims with the whole "he ignored the reasonable comments"
because 1. Reasonable comments make for far better comedy don't they and 2. Just like how their ignoring the threats against his kid.

Wasn't there an actual 2nd Person shooter game where you had to shoot enemies as the player, but you were looking through the enemy's eyes? It was a cool concept while it lasted.
Also there being a joke about 2nd person shooters is great. You get my winner rating for bringing that up to the light.

Well, you see, it's on TV, so it has to do nothing but fellate gamers and vindicate their hobby. You're allowed to do it online because it's parody or satire or some shit.
