Furries can eb disgusting but they at least have sympathy towards others (at least msot of them) and can probably have an actual work without taking advantage of someone else. John cannot he just had luck his SHW was accepted and was peculiar compared to the other shows at the time. That's it. Also I'm the only one that gets weird vibes from the show to the point where I can't watch a whole episode? Like seriously idk if it's the voices, the characters or idk but the show always gave me weird bad vibes. Tbh it doesn't surprise me the creator it's such a huge creep
 
For better or worse I feel the western animation industry needs another John K. Basically an uber skilled sperg with a burning hatred for the current state of cartoons and isn't afraid of burning bridges to push things forward. Just without the grooming.

You mean Ren and Stimpy? Nah, it made me really uncomfortable as a kid, too. Strangely, I never had that problem with Cow and Chicken but maybe that's because I'm a retard.

There's the skit where Ren and Stimpy are initiating the teenaged girl into the "secret club" which always gives me weird vibes

I think he's terribly overrated. He wasn't the only boomer/x-gen artists making a name for themselves with vulgar and gross out animation in the 80's. Lot of up and coming artists had the same mindset (but without John's ego/insanity) and as cable television continued to grow subscriptions, there was a lot of networks out there thirsty for what bars can be pushed for animated content. He was just able to beat many to the punch with his show.
 
gosh what new spectacular fellow will come forth tomorrow to stick up for the buttmunch who can't draw the same thing twice but wants to be an animator, and hope to distract from the allegations that a doctor and an animator colluded to provide drugs in exchange for access to underage girls

You mean like Danny Antonucci? Guy went from Lupo the Butcher and Brothers Grunt to Ed, Edd, n Eddy yet isn't a complete whackjob like Kricfalusi.

If we're going just on level of gonzo in their animation, even Peter Chung kept his hands clean in spite of his, errr, creative visions.
 
A lot of people in animation are basically clean. Most of the Ren and Stimpy staff were and are perfectly fine folks. You don't have to be as hard to work with as John K. was to do the kind of thing he did.

That's true. I'm always impressed by these people's variety. John is a one trick pony and in hindsight, I have no idea why people gave him the attention that they did.

I think the only thing in defense of John is that I don't think anyone actually liked Brothers Grunt.
