Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

watching asmongold getting obvious trolled in ifrit extreme, his party is full of level 80 players most all in endgame gear, and its obvious they are failing easy mechanics on purpose., he should have just went in unsync'd. even the chat is pointing out that hes being trolled by his prog group.
The paladin triple legend catgirl in Asmongold's party has been repeatedly posting on 4chan being smug about getting in Asmongold's party, being a triple legend, and overall just being a massive faggot. He also challenged people to join him on his static discord so that a bunch of autists can laugh at you, internet tough guy.

It's incredible the lengths that these people will go to in order to get attention from a popular streamer. Now he is crying about being a victim in threads.

From watching this, yeah, that faggot was a straight up shitter whose only saving grace was the fact that he knew how to handle add phase. He sure couldn't do Tank swaps worth a shit though.

On the other hand, from what I saw in that video of the Ifrit EX runs, aside from a few moments like the healers not topping the mostly dead party off for the first Hellfire and the Scholar Rescuing Asmon straight into one of Ifrit's charges, it seemed like a lot of the wipes were Asmonbald's fault because he either wasn't swapping on time or he kept getting most of his party cleaved. Plus, he kept tiptoeing way too close to either one of the healers when they had their separate mechanic debuff active.

NGL, it makes me a little salty that he got a free easy Nightmare drop off of that performance.

What job is he playing?

Yup, I was pseudo-watching live and caught the moment (25:00 in the YouTube video) when Asmongold is clearly the one to blame for the party wipe in the final phase of Ifrit EX. There was ample time in which he wasn't swapping with Sea Lion, the other tank, who already had 3 damage stacks. Thus Sea Lion eventually died (with 5 stacks!), and once that happened, Ifrit immediately switched aggro to the rest of the clumped party and killed them all with a cleave before Asmon could take control. Would've had Ifrit beaten and saved on half an hour if he didn't fuck up right there, and I wish he would've recognized and acknowledged the error he made.

Regardless, I thought the Ifrit fight was a good show, and I'd much rather see Asmon party with such randos for each fight and bear more responsibility in his role than party with select friends, attention-seeking Legends, and party members from previous fights. I was so glad when he decided to leave out the Titan EX tank for the Ifrit EX party when he couldn't figure out how to run a poll.

he's only playing WAR and will switch to DRK when he gets to HW he actively shits on any other class in the game.
I actually wonder whether he's going to stick to WAR now, considering how much he's investing in it to the point of even vowing to grind for the final lvl50 WAR Relic weapon.

the main issue hes having is the fact that he only seems to pop a cooldown after he eats a tank buster and not before.

Oh, it was definitely entertaining, don't get me wrong. Just, as someone who grinded out all the 2.x Primal mounts for Kirin the hard way back in the day and got stupid lucky picking up a Nightmare drop myself, it salts my asshole a bit that he played like total dogshit and got TWO free easy Nightmare drops back to back. Also reminds me of those times while mount farming where the worst performing person in the party always seemed to win the roll for the horse whistles.

Final Fantasy netcode is pretty bad. In WoW you can get away with popping cooldowns at the last second. In Final Fantasy even if you queue the cooldown before something happens, you'll still get hit for full damage.
In my experience, if you know the boss' timing and application of effects/damage well enough, as long as you pop the CD and it applies on your status bar before any incoming damage or effects actually get registered, your CD WILL mitigate whatever's coming in. I've timed them super fucking close on multiple occasions myself, either due to inattentiveness or experimentation. It's really irritating when the animations for particular CDs/oGCDs tend to "prevent" popping another one when you try to weave them together though.

Fun little note: There was a time when the netcode was so much fucking worse. Anybody remember the times when you had to be COMPLETELY out of AoE markers more than 2-3 seconds ahead of time before they went out? And specifically how this made fights like Titan EX absolute hell?

Say what you want about streamers but that limit break 3 by the whitemage was absolutely Killer to see on livestream. That was entertaining. Stream for the most part was open as background noise.

hate to see it lol

honestly though i did the ARR extreme's during ARR and while tricky they're not -that- hard. i can't wait to see him do the ballads, those are pretty rough if you can't pop CD's at the right time and not have to rely on your healers to LB3

I noticed that he ALMOST never touches Thrill of Battle, even when he claims he's "popping all cooldowns" and as a longtime Warrior main, this kills me.

It's worth pointing out that all of the "old" mounts have had years of buffs to their drop rate so the "super rare" Nightmare whistle isn't really "super rare" anymore. I'd put the "normal" horse drop rate at 40% and Nightmare at about 20% based on farming them up for guildies. It's uncommon to see two of them back to back, but it's still not a super crazy thing that happened.

FFXIV typically drops the drop rate of mounts when the content is "old" and they're usually pretty fast about it. Almost all EX mounts have an increased drop rate (if not all of them) currently.

I know the horses have gotten buffed rates over the years but I've been repeatedly told that they kept Nightmare at an incredibly low drop rate.

So far it seems like he's getting at least one mount whistle every clear and I don't even see that happen when I run Extremes. Does Lootmaster rules guarantee it or something or is he really just that lucky?

For now, I thought looking like a regular dude is better than trying too hard to look cool when I am only level 56. And I'm a sucker for uniforms. I finished the main story and now I am trying to do some slightly more challenging content before starting with Heavensward. I also realized I get distracted by side content easily, so I am slowly leveling some crafting/gathering jobs as well while doing my Maelstrom dailies.

/xivg/ has been a fucking goldmine lately.

Honestly, the best thing ever is seeing his reaction to the Gold Saucer. His complete amazement at a zone that's just meant for pure FUN puts a smile on my face. And that's the kind of stuff that's going to sell the regular player on the game. The raids and stuff are nice, but goofy fun side content that is meant for just bullshit fun is the way to go man.

I've been told WoW's equivalent is the Darkmoon Faire which happens on a monthly basis or something? Anyone know how's that in comparison?
