Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

From what I can remember, there's not a whole lot of Ivalice-relating games left in FF. Just XII's sequel, which I didn't even know it got, and the FFT Advance games.

They were planning to continue but it appears that they changed their minds judging from the last cutscene and the last fieldnote. It didn't help that bozja was a disaster.

Is it me, or no one in Drak's schtick has a lick of comedic sense?
Dunno, his streams and videos have been awfully boring ever since tate got outed as a pest.
They were much funnier in Heavensward and early Stormblood. I think they wound up leaning more on Tate for comedic timing near the midfle of Stormblood and the rest of the group's humor suffered.

Only one I watch nowadays is Larry, and he only uploads XIV stuff occasionally after he got his shit together and got a real job.

So Matsuno implied on twitter that the Ivalice subplot flopped, he's off to another game and don't expect coming back to Rabanastre anytime soon.
I enjoy the lore, actually. But tying it to Bozja had been a huge mistake, and once Endwalker is out it's going to be dead content ala Eureka, despite what Eureka fans (there are a few, apparently, for some reason) will desperately try and tell you.

I want to take the optimistic route and suggest that the Ivalice content is not considered a high priority given that the devs want to focus on original content for EW. Who knows, unless something happened between the two, Yoshida would probably try to find ways to keep him on board.

Shame. I really liked where they were going with it. I guess we wont get to fight a judge.

I find it kind of curious they didn't add Brian Ricardo to the twitch streamers list because not only is he PoC but he streams alot of PVP which isn't 'generic' FFXIV content. I also don't really watch a lot of FFXIV twitch streamers so I don't know if there's a better PVP representative. Also, lolpvp.

Why would anyone want to watch one of MMO's worst PvP systems in history?

Also, the Ivalice being changed is hard to say. One point is because Bozja wasn't that great but also when you think about it in the long run, you have to do all of the stormblood raids then dread through Bozja content to get to the 6.0 stuff introduced. I'd say it was better off for it to end abruptly so can focus on more original content.

To be fair, lorewise its not going to be make much sense to continue this arc while the 8th calamity is going on.

Alright, which one of you clowns is responsible for this FC?

FFXIV PvP isn't a draw and the most a streamer can reasonably and reliably stream is Frontlines (FFXIV's verison of Battlegrounds). The MOBA mode (Rival Wings) and the Arena mode (The Feast) are basically 100% dead nearly all of the time. He's also a really small streamer, even by FFXIV standards.

That said, but also, people assume it was FFXIV picking the streamers - when in reality all of the streamers are Twitch partners/affiliates (meaning, they have legal contracts with Twitch in relation to exclusivity and advertising) and might have been Twitch's decision based on specific metrics. They may not have been able to reach Brian on an official channel in time, as well.

Is gardening worth it/profitable at all? I'm trying to decide if it's worth investing gil into a deluxe gardening bed.

Yes. It's just really slow (due to grow time) and you will have to maintain your plants.

Basically, manage a garden on the side while you're pursuing other means of profit. Unless you don't mind the wait time.

Thinking about activating my account again. Skimmed through the thread, but lazy: is there still a Kiwi FC? What server is it on, and what’s the FC name?
Someone can PM me if you don’t want to advertise it to guests and randos.

I don't think there's a Kiwi FC due to most of us being on different servers and what not.

You have any recommendations for plants to grow?

You might have to check what's moving on your server's market board since these things can vary, but my friend tells me that flowers are often in demand if they're in the color that people want, usually white flowers.

I think you could probably make a decent profit on the gardening minions as well if they haven't already been undercut to shit on your server.

Tiny disclaimer that I don't do any gardening myself and haven't bothered with it since Heavensward, but I know enough to know that it's still profitable if done right.

I personally do the Krakka Root/Tantalplant and Pixie Plum with Old World Fig route. Every 1-2 months or so (depending how many cycles I grow) I bring in 1-2 million or more depending on how man Onion seeds I end up getting. There are other mixes that you can do to get the Onions, but that's the one I see posted more often then not.

Plant them based on the guide below, with the throwaway plant being the one whose seeds cost the cheapest.

Can also do a more compact design below if you have the money to buy the seeds right away (tend to be expensive on my server at least.)
