None of these would be unforgiveable art offenses by themselves, he'd just be a mediocre, shitty artist. But he also used to constantly advise his audience, which mostly consisted of younger aspiring artists or cartoonists, to do the same things. He believed that the shitty, half-assed things he does are actual, viable professional art techniques. And they're really not. That and his complete inability to take critiques in the first place.

If his content was actually good, his execution would be excusable.

There are plenty of good comic strips where the humor is enough to carry it, even if the accompanying art is shitty.

The problem with Dobbo is he has literally nothing going for him. Even Tim Buckley had regularity. He was like the bran-eating king of regularity, who could at least be trusted to crap something out every day.

Dobbo just has absolutely no single standout feature that justifies his existence. Almost everything he does is just randomly shoving a couple things together and calling it a day. The Jimmy Wonton thing is a perfect example because it's just shit. Why does it even exist? What's the joke? How is this supposed to be funny?

Dobbo is just a giant bitch with no endearing characteristics whatsoever.

I think they tried to make it professional and not go public about that, but that's pretty much the assumption yeah. After all, Dobbles said he liked doing the comics, so if he weren't insufferable he'd probably still be working for him.

My Guess? As long as he holds on to his old account without deleting it, he's going to keep the decade-old followers that stopped using dA a long time ago that make his account seem more important, than it is.
If he made a new account, all these 'passive followers' would vanish from his counter and he'd be down to a few dozen. At best. I bet he realizes that, but doesn't want to make it obvious how insignificant he actually is. Basically, he's riding the coattails of his former success.

Also, the arrows are only at the top of the screen, so I have to scroll down, read the page, and then scroll back up.
