"Empathy" is the one of the most misused terms of the 2010's. "Empathy" nowadays means anyone who demands that everyone understand and listen to them regardless of how they behaved without question. If you're a cunt towards me and make me feel upset when I haven't done anything wrong, why are YOU deserving of being understood you prick? You're not entitled to my empathy or anyone else's for that matter and you won't get any from me like that. Fuck right off mate.
 
They confuse "empathy" with "approval," anyway. I can empathize with bad people and still think they're bad. Understanding does lessen hatred, but it doesn't obviate moral judgment.

I've been wanting to say this, but I couldn't figure out quite how to phrase it. Every time someone says/writes "Happy Pride, y'all!" I can feel my brain aneurysm's countdown shorten just a bit more.

I find that I can pretty much disregard the opinions of anyone using either of these terms, and not lessen my quality of life one iota by doing so.

I don't like how preachy and seemingly full of bullshit copyright notices in books have gotten. It used to be just "all rights reserved" or whatever. Now they can have bullshit about copyright being important to creativity and free speech - though history shows otherwise - claiming infringement and theft are exactly the same, and possibly denying fair use exists. It's as if © fanatics from deviantART write those things.
