There was no shitstorm because Dobson is a no one, hes just an exceptional self absorbed shut in.
His only real internet fame isnt that hes an artist but a Lolcow.
Please don't misunderstand me what Dobson did was wrong and I would rather like to punch him in the face for it (well that and the zelda williams thing) but at the end of the day the internet is full of stupid people with shitty offensive opinions that are best off being ignored....or laughed at.

In Dobbers Tweetfeed, I saw people bitch and moan about sci-fi not being very PROGRESSIVE. Basically, it was tweets whining about a lack of non-gender-binary races, a lack of black (or female) protagonists in sci-fi and the likes.

I remember being told Ripley from the Alien series was basically a Damsel in distress rather than a strong female lead by a bunch of SJW on another forum....and the Sarah Connor existed just to be a delivery system for a stronger male hero so didn't count.

Well, I have to admit that he kinda sorta had a passing semblance of a point. You don't have to talk about the shooting in order to talk about the movie, but the way he did it just pisses all over the victims with his disrespectful self-righteous attitude.
Ignoring the elephant in the room doesn't make it go away. A short mention, just to aknowledge what has happened, would be all it takes to pay the victims some respect. Or simply ignore it alltogether. Again: Not the best way of handling it, but at least you're not making an ass of yourself.

Here, Dobbers managed to completely drop the ball, shit the bed, strangle an orphan and still doesn't understand why people hate his guts.

Did they ask any men about this, of-course they didn't because disagreeing with their assumption would just be another form of oppression. Bayonetta was a decent game with a great combat system but the "sexual" aspect to the game was like a 13 year olds wet dream. The SJWs enjoy pointing out males are uncomfortable due to the torture moves being applied to male enemy types but there's likely far more highly sexualised female enemy types that get tortured for our titillation.

I was over on a retro gamer forum and a "fem gamer" was talking about how sexist Baldurs gate was because you could strip females down to their underwear in the inventory screen.
When it was pointed out you could do exactly the same to any of the male characters they had a minor freak out, told us that there nothing sexual about naked male chests and that it didnt matter because they never let male NPCs into their party.

Like there's player nudity mods for stuff like skyrim (y'think Dobby would know that) and that plenty of "gamerbros" or neckbeards would love playing as a skimpy female protagonist since you just get to stare at their ass for hours on end. If there is a discomfort with Bayonetta and not Quiet, it's easy to spot to anyone with, y'know, eyes? That aren't tinted by "MISSOGGYKNEES"?

Mainly that, well, looking at the character designs, Quiet actually more or less resembles an actual woman, albeit a slim one in terms of proportions.

Bayonetta on the other hand looks kinda close but at the same time has a smaller head and much longer legs compared to Quiet's which are roughly the same length as her torso and hips. Yet she's not far removed enough from realistic like a comics or anime character. In other words, people might get an uncanney valley vibe from Bayonetta. I've not looked at any Witcher stuff but it's probably the same.

Amazing what you can conclude by actually looking at things. I'm guessing that, due to the "power fantasy" angle, Bayonetta's design might parody those tiny-headed ultrabuff superhero types and thus be intentional.

I think it would be pretty funny if some person who is actually feministic in mind, but well balanced, would start a discussion about the history of feminism and its impact nowadays with friends, while playing Bayonetta all the time and sometimes just losing focus and talk about some sexy things while also pointing out how awesome they are in regard of women. E.g. : I like to argue that Leia in the slave outfit from Star Wars is pretty badass. Why? She is the only main character who directly kills one of the bad guys in the entire original trilogy.
