Seeing a picture with CattyN in it makes me wonder how much more successful Dobbles would've been if he just kept making inflation shit instead of trying to do art that's meant to appeal to more than an uncommon fetish.
Well if he took commissions (and he seems to be more motivated to work on things that he likes, such as lesbians) he would certainly be making more bank

Plus there's always an audience for porn, even really badly drawn weird porn, so he would probably be doing a hell of a lot better.
Also I'd imagine the more niche the kink the more people are willing the pay to have it drawn because they wouldn't be as much fap material available.

I know an artist who takes MLP commissions. Hes not a fan of the show but the guy can draw and bronies are willing to pay so hes happy to take their money and hes has no real issue drawing fap material so long as hes gets paid for it (and its not too fucked up).
The difference between him and Dobson is that Fedobear would only draw shit he wants to draw, he has no interest in what his fans want to see and fucks up any chance of commissions with his work ethic.
Unless there's a great demand for inflation porn of his original characters, forgotten 1980s kids shows and Steven universe characters then hes not gonna make much bank.

I'd like to see Dobson take commissions so he'd be more motivated to put effort into making artwork and be able to support himself, but I imagine it'd go down like this. He'd probably take months to finish it, trace, or just be a dick to the commissioner if they weren't happy with the results.

Look at how little effort hes putting into his animation and that something he felt really inspired to work on.

Well I hope hes putting little effort into it cause damn it looks shit.

You're right. It does look bad.

I have a lot of experience with animation myself and I can say that it's a very tedious, difficult process. Just a few seconds of it can take hours and even days to create, especially if it's done by hand and it has a lot of details. Looking at Dobson's process, I can see he's trying hard to make it look good, and it doesn't look as bad as it could so I guess he's succeeded in that regard. I'd even say he's a pretty decent animator and he knows what he's doing. It just looks really stiff and there aren't many inbetweens. Not to mention how flat the characters expressions are. There aren't any animation smears, and he clearly hasn't used any other tricks to make the process go faster or the work itself aesthetically pleasing. It's really bland.

It says a lot that I'd rather watch a show like Ren and Stimpy rather than look at Dobson's work. John Kricfalusi (R&S's creator) may be an asshole who can't take criticism well, like Dobson, but he at least managed to create a good show that I can enjoy and be inspired by. Dobson can't even do that.

The thing is that Dobbo went and took animation classes; he is missing almost EVERY principle that you can think of while animating despite taking multiple courses on that subject. He fails to add in little things they teach you in 101, like anticipation or a slight bounce (stretch and squash basically) to movements; they look like automatons powered by dark magic due to this, since he clearly looks like he's rushing a product. He also can't decide between high or low frame. You can mix the two, but it takes a certain hand to do it and fucking it up messes with everything.

You know, having very little experience in animation or art, I don't really notice a lot of the issues Dobson's work has until someone else on this thread points it out. (i.e., weird anatomy, the flying eyebrows, perspective issues, ect.)

But watching that Korrasami animation, even I noticed the sloppy bits. In particular, how Korra's lips were moving the entire time. It's as if she was a robot. It just seems to come off as weird looking and unnatural.

I also find it kinda hilarious how half-assed the actors were here. I get that they were both just doing it for fun, it's just that it takes away from whatever mood that Dobson was trying to go for in this animation, if he was trying to do anything beyond making fap material for himself.

With the first panel, I never really get: is that supposed to be ironic? "How do I get stuff from a paper on my PC?" -"Use a scanner".
Either he's an ass for answering it so snarky or he's a dumbass cause that's not really a great advice.

I still think you can tell when an ass is an ass regardless of gender, quite frankly.
This brand of SJW reeks with self-righteousness and an unwillingness to engage opposition in any meaningful way, thus they heavily rely on silencing others for the most inane of reasons.
"That shitlord didn't call that other person by the gender 'mayonaise', time to completely and instantly ignore everything he said! SO PROGRESSIVE!"

That's really the preview image you're going with, huh?

Or save money and watch it on YouTube.

1) Those hands are hideous. Like. DAMN.
2) I know it's supposed to be a coat or something, but when you imagine the -uh- coattails (?) are her legs, then the belt stops looking like a belt and more like some sort of fetish underwear with a hole in it.
3) DAMN, theses hands are poorly drawn.
4) Doofy Face. What else can I say?
5) The anatomy of the arms (and how it in no way interacts with the clothes) is really bad.
6) Those. GODDAMN. Hands. Jesus.
Wouldn't something like that still involve effort in the picture? So that won't be it. Whatever he may shit out, it will be a drawing of Peach that makes her look as stiff as a Sonichu-Amiibo.
fixed that for you.

Now in animated form.

Dobbo, why won't you color the rest as well ? *sigh*
Oh god, that awkward shot on the gumball-machine-ring that's holding forever... Dobson does know he could recut the soundfile himself to get rid of the awkward silence? Alternatively, he could have used that pause for Korra to present the ring slowly rather than producing it from thin air and opening it in a jaring, mechanical and unnatural 4 frame animation.

Can someone please replace that ring-shot with a shot of a tumbleweed bush rolling past while crickets chirp and wind howls? I feel it would vastly improve the scene.
Tecmo is proud of their jiggle physics. If only Dobson had enough pride with his art.

Also, can someone kindly ask him why fans have to suffer just because he doesn't like the game? This isn't someone being apathetic over a game not being released but someone saying "Haha! Suck it misogynists!"
This. Both the people that made Dragon's Crown and the guys behind DOA Volleyball at least stand up to their stuff.
Dobbers will endlessly lament how people mock him for his fetish of years ago, but he'd never be able to actually own up to it. He only ever urges people to forget about it, he never goes "Well yeah. I was/am into that kind of stuff. So what?".

Principle 2: Anticipation. You telegraph what's going to happen to make it both make sense to the viewer watching it, giving them time to know what's happening, and make it not look like some prestidigitation stuff. Add that up with some staging, like the two were just casually chatting and having a time, and the animation could've worked in the hands of someone who gives a shit about their job. Dobbo should've learned this in his animation course, but again, he was too busy sobbing and raging at the people who were mean to him (HOW DARE I NOT BE UNIQUE ANY MORE) and crashing into slumber to make these lessons stick.

It zooming out via Looney Toons with Dobbo breathing heavily at his animator's desk and muttering "Now kiss with both mouths" would've been great too. Would've really fit the mood.

It's because he's a moron who hates divorcing himself from himself. In short, he has no ability to feel embarrassed by his work, which is why he deems shit he pooed out 15 years ago to be just fine.

RE: Superman's supposed 'homophobia'
Maybe, just maybe, it's an intentional character flaw. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, flawed characters are more interesting because they have a much greater potential for personal growth and lessons learned. Maybe it makes Superman more identifiable in that he holds a belief that is increasingly considered to be 'wrong' in society, but eventually learns to overcome it and becomes a slightly better person for it.

Nope.
Nahhh.
Better talk about the 'lesbian couple' angle of it and bitch a little.

But every character needs to be *~*~progressive~*~*
it's not like protagonists ever have a personal conflict that they need to resolve in the future ever

And here we go again...

So the caped Crusader is a violent shitlord and Superboyscout is a shitlord for not prancing through the streets going "GAY MARRIAGE IS TEH BEST!"

I'm not even a fan of Superhero comics and this tweet just makes me want to slap that shithead.

Is it really a flaw? I'd call it a "different opinion", tbh. I mean, boy grew up on a farm with really old parents. As long as he's not actively working against them and maintains a "well, whatever makes 'em happy, I guess" attitude of non-involvement, it's not really a bad attitude.
But of course, with the bigottry and hatred SJWs spew nonstop, Superman has to march the Gleichschritt of PROGRESS, pledge his undying loyalty towards his SJW overlords and toast anyone who as much as suggests that he's not entire comfortable with gay marriage. Otherwise, he'd just be a shitlord himself!
It's also the reason why catering to SJWs will always be a bad idea. The moment you give in, they will instantly jump to the next inane point and demand their voices being heard and their wishes being fulfilled. They will never stop making demands. They will never aknowledge or praise what has been granted. They will just endlessly, mindlessly continue to make demands - and they will grow ever more nasty.

"Aww, that was a super sweet thing you did for them"

I really wish he'd stop with the whole "look at how precious and cute lesbians are together" bit. He's coming off super creepy.

Going through this thread I was recently reminded that the Webcomic Relief did a review on SYAC.

Now the video is roughly two years old and is pre-Care Bear Dobson, but seeing as how Dobbo never grew as an artist, Riiser's points still stand. Also, Dobson is already aware of the review and pretty much threw his own creation under the bus by claiming that SYAC is completely irrelevant and Riiser wasted his time reviewing it.....talk about losing the war to win the battle.
