I'm just listening to this and had to stop at this exact part. Shit's too much. Reddit is scary. Kid thinks he might be gay cause he doesn't love all stereotypical boy things. Goes on reddit asking if he might be gay, they start screaming YOU'RE A GIRL. Not even an exaggeration. They started bombarding him with this idea and material to convince him he is. That part where the adult he was talking to told him that if his parents don't accept this they're toxic and bigoted and he'd come and get him. These parents terrified that he talked to some sex trafficker or some shit.

With the sheer size of this thread and the amount of lolcows that tend to be troons, it's more than safe to assume that all trannies, no matter how "passable" are lolcows by default, with the groomers being horrorcows and the others that only self-destruct being from regular cows to schizocows.

It is probably a minority opinion in this place but no, I have known several transgender people who transitioned and went on with their lives in peace. One factor they have in common is that they all transitioned 5+ years ago. The current trans wave, on the other hand, seems to be mostly middle-aged men who aren't getting enough attention and sad autistic children.
Personally I believe there are a small number of people who, maybe because of a hormonal issue, really are happier and better off living as the opposite sex. That number has not increased and is still tiny, and is currently being drowned out 1,000 to 1 by the type of people featured this thread.

"gender non conforming women" is kinda meaningless these days because the modern day pop culture idea of feminine behavior with its focus on hyper sexualisation and hedonistic consumerism is so artificial and cancerous. it has gotten to the point where i think it's actually healthier for girls to reject most of it instead of conforming to it.
the problem then is that nobody is really presenting any sort of viable alternative to them, with tranny shit being the only 'alternative' that is supported and pushed, and it's even more cancerous and damaging than the regular stuff. shit's fucked all around.

I understand where you were coming from, but even with the older "saner" trans crowd its very rarely hormones. Its mental illness and trauma. The desperate need to be Not Yourself anymore can cause dysphoria which, with the right social contagion, can lead to seeing going transgender as the best way to be a new person detached from the trauma of your old self. I sympathize with these people so long as they arent actively spouting rhetoric that actively harms other groups (women, children, gays). Or its fetishism but they know to stick to their own circles and not to bother normal folks with it.
Theres a difference between judging an individual and a toxic community/culture they might have ended up in. Sure, the folks posted in here are lolcow as fuck but thats visibility bias in action. You dont see the saner troons posting dumb shit because they realize their identity is more than their just fucking gender presentation.

I'm not sure and I can't speak for the straight girls doing this, but I guess it's related to the recent (past 5-10 years) normalisation of what essentially is porn stereotypes as "femininity". Liberal feminism has sold girls the lie that selling your body as a product for men's entertainment is empowering. Risking your health and safety by sleeping with many men casually is empowering. Every individual choice is EmPoWeRiNg, everything you do is politicised. If you don't want to get choked during sex you're a prude. Yaaas kween! Boss bitch! Etc.
I have never seen so many girls as young as 12 and 13 wearing drag queen style makeup as a daily look, and too afraid to leave the house without it. I've never seen so many girls think it's a great idea to sell their bodies to crusty coomers upon reaching 18. I've never seen such retarded, porn inspired beauty standards amongst 12-20 year olds. A lot of this is driven by consumerism and mainstreaming of porn. I am not slutshaming, it's not a matter of morality but wellbeing, and these are children/teens we're talking about.
It is only my opinion, but I think the lack of belonging and confusion many girls might feel during their teen years is encouraging this increase in FTM troons. If you can't fit in with or go with these social pressures, or become convinced you're special and different for not being girly (very common), not to mention the overlap with things like autism, depression and eating disorders, it's easy to get groomed into this stuff.
