Gender non conforming women have always existed (I could give you some academic lesbian history books if you care, but you probably don’t), but never have there been so many straight teenage girls rejecting the female standard. Right? Am I missing something? I guess at the point in medieval England when 25% of the population entered religious life, that was a lot of nuns, but I do think it is legitimately abnormal for so many straight teenage girls to want to be unattractive to boys by rejecting femininity.

The thing is they have been told since childhood by things like public school social studies classes, tumblr, the internet in general, that being a woman is horrible. That no matter how hard they try, the patriarchy will always win out, that they will have to live in fear of men their whole lives.

So, if i'm interpreting the ruling correctly, GC views such as "a man cannot become a woman" or "sex is immutable" is under protection now, meaning it's not about misgendering or transphobia, it's that people are allowed to believe in science and express that. The TRAs are reporting on it now, and the they are confused as to what the ruling means.

It is absurdly clear:
- statements of fact =/= transphobia, even if some halfwits are wah-wah-offended by them
- statements of belief in biological fact are not a blank cheque to commit discrimination or harassment.
The onus shifts, from troons able to claim that simply stating “I don’t think men can become women under any circumstances” is harassment directed deliberately at them in breach of their ha-ha-human right - to them having to prove that any such statement was intended as harassment and discrimination, and also targeted them explicitly. It raises the bar on their bullshit to allow normal debate and reasonable challenge to happen legitimately.
If troons can’t truly grasp that, I guess their lady-brains must really be dragging them down something chronic, bless!
