Fucking really Dobson?! So there is both the in-world-joke punchline and the strip's punchline and both are terrible in their own terrible way. OK, fine, Alex is telling a bad joke fully aware it is a bad joke, but the fact that the punchline is the commercial name of a niche American fast food restaurant entails that "Arby's" exist in AzP world which is not only absurd but shows how utterly American centric Dobson is, talk about what a shit writer and world builder he is. ( Also what was he trying to accomplish here? Going to Arby's demanding money or food because he promoted their business in AzP? )
And then there is the other punchline that boils down to "blond male white cis is dumb".
...
Urgh.

The most baffling thing is, that he uses it as the main "punchline" of a comic. I could see that working as a name for a tavern, that appears somewhere in the background of an 'establishing shot' of a port and then is forgotten. But since Dobsons backgrounds are gradients 90% of the time....

Okay, spergery time!
I guess it kind of comes with the territory of a gag strip but sometimes I feel like that can be a bit detrimental. This could have been not so much a funny strip but actually a little on the heartwarming side, just establishing a bit of a rapport between characters. I just think a lot of things can actually be more effective (including humour) when you can relate to a character more and well, a quick and easy way to do that is establish how they relate to other characters. It's kinda like a lame joke that you'd laugh at when friends are telling it but if a stranger tried it'd just be awkward silence?
It'd be sacrificing the humour of one strip (that wasn't any good anyway) for potentially strengthening the rest of the strips in more ways than one. For instance, that comic with the women bragging about shit could have just been seen as lighthearted teasing if they established some sort of positive relationship instead of verbal masturbation.
But nope, why have depth when we can have a "Men ur dum please praise me I'm not like the other dum mens!" joke? Yet again?[/sperg]

Not to mention the entire character of Token Male can be summed up as "buttmonkey that is constantly shit on by women". Dude got kidnapped from an orphanage by Alex to be the ship's errand boy, then she tells everyone she bought him for a nickel/ fifty cents(Dobbles can't seem to keep the amount straight).
And yet he claims there was some kind of love triangle between him, Alex, and Lesbian Kick

Dobson's lazy. If you're going to reuse artwork in a comic, reuse the backgrounds or something. That would at least be acceptable.
He could've made the comic more amusing by redrawing each panel instead of copying and pasting the first one. Put Alex in different poses or something. But nope let's go the unprofessional route because it's easier

Cutting and pasting is the least of this shitty strip's problems. He basically only drew one frame, and even in that frame, the desperation to avoid drawing hands is screamingly obvious.
He only drew one fucking frame.
And even in that frame, he couldn't draw hands. Or even paws of that fucking rat or whatever it is.
