Nah, that one they'd actually be able to narrow down who leaked it. Scripts get everywhere so while I am certain they'd love to know who let that get out to the masses they will struggle to. But the actual pilot won't get loose without someone getting caught.

If it were a bigger property maybe. Maybe.

It won't be better but it'll be less awful because they already know they messed up so they'll sulkily try to be less abysmal.

There's going to be an undercurrent of seething resentment in every scene that needs to be rewritten/performed that might compensate though.

Reminder that the Dumb Cunt that wrote this trash is an Oscar Winner, so CW isn't going to bring in help for her so it will just be Her trying to make her cooperate overlords happy and not having the ability to pull it off because she is only really capable of writing Bitchy Mid 20s Sluts who say "Like Moveondotorg"

True, however that just means she'll go for bland since that's easy to write. With money already sunk in it's unlikely to be cancelled so even if they look at it and see nothing but boring they'll go ahead.

What might happen is she will get an editor before being allowed to arrange for any expensive reshoots. The editor will probably have a pen and just silently delete entire sections of it. I'm curious, anyone know if they have to commit to a minimum run time/episode number when deals are made? Because if there's not enough material for even the minimum run under a more discerning eye that might get it dropped outright.

This is another solid piece of evidence that we are in fact in the matrix.
 
Here's the thing: The concept of child superheroes being exploited for personal gain and turned into TV stars (with "creative liberties") where when they grow up and aren't "cute" anymore get crippling existential crises isn't a bad idea. I think it'd be a fascinating character study when done right and would be a good example of deconstruction that a lot of shows and movies wanna take advantage of but don't make touchdowns more often than not.

Problem is they chose the wrong fucking IP to do it with. Execs are too afraid to come up with original ideas anymore, and the name-recognition alone gave them dollar signs. They know that people were going to flock to it and watch it because even negative publicity is good publicity since there's a sucker born every minute who watches out of bile fascination and gives them ratings to continue another day. This is a malicious, formulaic marketing tactic because it (kinda) worked for Riverdale and Batwoman, and The CW seems to be embracing being trashy edgy teen dramas for bored adults at this point.

The fact that even they feel like they fucked up and are scrambling to "revamp" it while the ire of the Internet barrels down on them is astonishing. There's almost an inkling of self-awareness that they may have taken things too far, but they are refusing to own up to it. They're going to keep doubling down because at the end of the day, the suckers are still going to tune in and give them those ratings to make another season, at least until Cartoon Network steps in and shoves their foot down their throat to take back the rights. And no one will have learned a damned thing, and such a great idea will continue to go to waste in the hands of talentless hacks.

Just leave this shit to fanfiction on the Internet, or to the porn parodies. That's all we're asking for.
