I specifically remember Dave saying during his "muh depression" stream that there should be an internet police force so they can deal with people talking shit to him. Setting aside the arguable merits of defending Phil, or anyone's right to say certain things, when you work for, or are associated with, a company whose reputation precedes it, you have thereby been adequately warned that some greasy shit is bound to go down. Twitch is one of those companies. I don't condone them being greasy, but since I know about it ahead of time, were I to start streaming there, I would have no business acting all shocked and shaken at them yeeting me at a moment's notice.

This is of course to say nothing of the fact that Phil is the type of person to paint a target on his back and still look surprised when a company with a rep smacks it square in the center. That's a staggering degree of willful obliviousness. Did he think himself immune because he's the right hand of the devil? Even he should know better by now, how many times has he lost a business deal, right or wrong? This is not new territory for Phil. He should be prepared, and he still never is. That's going to elicit laughs at his expense. I don't know how can expect otherwise.

But most importantly, this kind of thing is inevitable, because greasy fucks always exist, whether they be a small-time streamer or the head of a streaming platform, and greasy shit is always going down, whether on a stream or on a streaming platform, and it's only a matter of time before one of the people with grease on them happens to already be greasy. It's not shocking when jackasses like myself laugh at an instance of some greasy fuck getting splattered with grease by some other greasy fuck. It's not like anyone finds Twitch to be their hero here. That site can share a room in hell with DSP for all anyone on the Farms cares. They both suck. That doesn't mean it stops being funny when one of them swipes the other over some arguable bullshit.

I'm a fan of the First Amendment. But that means I'm also a fan of paying attention when an entity doesn't give a fuck about your free speech, and so to me, the folks being clueless and stupid aren't on the Farms, they're on Twitch, practically begging to be the next person to get axed over some bullshit.

They canceled their contract with Phil that granted him more avenues for him to be paid by them for what he was already doing.

Twitch didn't censor Phil, they just looked at his content and went 'we're not paying for this' (letting him have subs/bits/etc).

Afaik he can just sort his shit and reapply anyways. But they never banned him (besides for ljke an hour when hr said nigger on accident).

Its like getting ad restricted as a titty streamer. You can keep sttreaming yourself acting like a thot. Twitch just isnt going to pay you directly for it.

YouTube/twitch monetization for creators was a mistake. It was just a scam to get people more eager to let the platform profit from them, but it has spawned a generation of people who act entitled, and think that they “deserve” to get money for their content which violates the agreement/contract they signed. When I saw you retards arguing over first amendment rights I was sure that Phil actualy got banned, but just saying this about demonetization is disingenuous. Guess what, the reason we have the first amendment is that we didn’t sign anything that allows the cops to arrest us at any time for any reason, but that is exactly what Phil did to get his partnership (and again we are not even talking about getting banned from broadcasting on the platform because that didn’t happen to Phil). And sadly Null was trying to say Phil was the former. It's really like some of these people don't see Phil being toxic or don't think it's a big deal because he's not wearing a klansman outfit or some shit. I think the truth is Null is just like other DSP board casuals who pop in for happenings but don't actually watch day to day so they actually think this guy is pretty normal (and part of this is because by lolcow standards he is, but he's still a gaslighting cult leader who abuses people on his stream verbally on a regular basis).

To top it all off he was "banned" from "the biggest platform" and then just went to the actual biggest platform. If that doesn't show that no free speech was violated I don't know what will: The guy is still out there spewing his bullshit and no one is stopping him (not saying they should, just saying he doesn't look very 'tread on' to me).

Indeed he is, and Null doesn't seem to recognize that because he doesn't seem to fully understand WHY Phil is despised. Which is really odd, given that he runs a site dedicated to lolcows. You would think he would be more knowledgeable of how stupid Phil is, and how it takes away from how sympathetic people are able to be with his various plights, no matter what they are.

None of us want a fascist world, we just recognize that some people put themselves more at risk in an arguably increasingly more fascist world than we do, and Phil is one of those people. In fact I would argue that we pull ourselves away from a scarier world by avoiding making martyrs out of people like Phil, because that means washing over their horrible track records, and that's as dangerous as giving bad people power.

It cannot be over-stated that Phil is one of those people who is dangerous with power, too. He's the guy who loves fascist policies, not us, and seeing him getting smacked by his own attitude is going to feel pretty just. Every bit as much as watching Twitch collapse in on itself would, if it were remotely plausible at this point. If Null thinks we wouldn't dance around it's smoldering corpse, he doesn't know us very well. When we feel good about Phil losing his partnership because he's toxic, it's for the same reason he would feel good about shitheads in high positions getting their comeuppance. They're the same people, just with different incomes.
