By the way, in the middle of that rant someone dropped a $170 tip.

That's hate speech? Why can't he call people retarded? Stop enforcing this fucking bullshit just because it, right now, inconveniences a person you don't like. You're going to lose your fucking head to this axe you're sharpening right now.
I know you're like really horny for anti internet censorship but when you accuse people on this forum of "enforcing this fucking bullshit" you act like we have some fucking power over Amazon and or Twitch. We're not enforcing anything here??? I'd love to be able to speak my mind and use uncensored language everywhere online but on Twitch.TV they have their own rules and on that website you have to follow those rules. I don't disagree with you in any way other than you acting like the users here cheering and laughing at DSP are somehow part of the language police on the internet.

The clip being supplied isn't calling anyone retarded either, so the speech isn't even directed at what could be a substantial hateful target, oh he's mad at the game for making him look inept, so what?

For the record, the suspension was unwarranted as DSP misspoke and shouldn't be justifiably punished by the platform for that. His de-partnering was probably justifiably long past warranted and if he did want back on after the disciplinary suspension period while twitch wanted to bother with him again, I wouldn't care either way.

I hope people can set aside their bias towards Phil and acknowledge that this is total bullshit and people at Twitch are fucking scum.

its dumb as fuck but I still think some wires were crossed and the legal department told him that was the reason based off his last ban and not the actual reason he was departnered

how could this happen to Phil but not to Wings who has way more trolls and incriminating videos.

twich is trash either way though

Amazon will make more money in the time it takes me to type out this post than dsp would've made them all year. I'm sure they'll be fine without him.

Corporate speech is regulated different than personal speech. Amazon does not need its power protected, it already has plenty.
I mean, that's capitalism. Unless the government sets up a streaming and social media platform, everyone is beholden to someone of more economic power on a platform. I'm sure there's plenty of folks banned from Kiwi Farms for reasons or another that didn't jive with what your rules and regulations are, which is why the internet and free speech handed over to the free market is gonna free market.

There are two things Phil got really wrong in his rant.

First, Twitch can legally kick people off of their service for any reason, including what people say. The First Amendment only covers government action, nor corporate action. Twitch has every legal right to kick Phil, or anyone, off of their service for something that has been said or done, legal or not.

Second, "Hateful conduct" isn't just racists or homophobic slurs. It's the demeaning of others, including regularly calling people idiots, paranoid, etc. And he's done this again and again, and he's been reported on it again and again.

I want to bet that the PWDubz dox also had something to do with this, and at the very least, made the decision to kick Phil out of the Partner Program that much easier.

This rant really shows that Phil is completely incapable of seeing how people view his actions. Phil took no time to reconsider things and think about how people might have viewed his actions. Once again, he believes that he did nothing wrong, and did everything correct. This really limits his growth as a human being, and it's sad really.

Other than that, this rant of his was completely and totally hilarious. I was almost on the floor rolling with laughter. Literally.

Edit: I'm going to add one more thing to add. Just because he didn't face consequences immediately after he did something wrong doesn't mean he did nothing wrong. Sometimes consequences can take a while to affect a person.

People still don't know that Twitch is a garbage website since Amazon got its hands on it?

It's also still funny that they finally axed him for whatever excuse they could grab at.

It's a private company. Why would any company want to offer a platform to a guy who constantly berates his viewers, calls them retarded, morons etc?

Sure, you could argue that people are too soft etc, but companies like Twitch will always pander to the majority, and the majority doesn't want their kids watching a guy who spends most of his time begging and insulting everyone.
It's a private company that receives privileges from the US government that without wouldn't be able to operate for more than a minute.

Normal people don't get to distribute other peoples speech to millions of people without opening them up to defamation lawsuits like twitch does.

If twitch wants to be a "private company fuck you we do what we want" fine. But if they want expansive privileges normal people don't get, then that should come with conditions.

Yeah just because the single clip someone showed only had him calling the game retarded makes it fine. Not the brightest are you? Also nice DSP logic, if it wasn't shown in the specific clips featured currently in the last page of posting it didn't happen. Fucking stupid m8.

Phil said what Twitch did was illegal, because they can't just terminate his partnership by using a bullshit excuse.

As usual, he's lying:
9. Term and Termination. The term of this Agreement will begin upon our acceptance of your Program application and will end when terminated by either you or us. Either you or we may terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without cause, by giving the other party written notice of termination
They got rid of Phil because he's a toxic piece of shit. The excuse they gave him is irrelevant and probably just a boilerplate response to people that act like him on stream.
