🎨 Artcow DisneyFan01 / Andrea Avrett - Womanchild whose Husbando is the Treasure Planet version of John Silver; Rewriting Kingdom Hearts with her Self-Insert for Over a Decade

For me three things stand out way more than the proportions: (1) the shaky lineart (instead of being smooth and stabilized, like Atropos pointed out), (2) the fact that the images were saved as jpegs and (3) the fact that she used black and white for the lightning and shading instead of adjacent colors (giving the final product a "dirty" look, this combined with the jpeg pixels and the airbrush tool being used).

Her art does not seem to have evolved whatsoever in the last few years, and most of these thigns are very early mistakes artists commit, not mistakes someone who has like a decade of drawings in her belt should be commiting at this point in time. Maybe she should stick to realism because, ignoring mistakes here and there, they look way better than her Disney/cartoon stuff and she seems to have a better hand at traditional art.

The painting is very nice, and a lot of her traditional portraits (if I remember correctly) were also pretty good aside from needing to have a broader range of values. I don't understand why her digital art seems to look so dramatically different and show less skill. I'm pretty shit at digital art compared to traditional so I get that it seems like a very different beast in ways, but they aren't two totally seperate ways of doing art. you can apply traditional art logic to digital (and you really should). If you don't have a stabilizer to help you fight the wiggle-lines you can always do lineart traditionally and scan it.
Also look at those wide-ass shoulders on the last chick omg

It may be because her technical art skills aren't that good. I think she relies too much on directly copying photographs and screenshots of Disney films, and that's why her fundamentals are lacking. It's absolutely essential to have good references for drawing, and a strong visual library, but what DisneyFan does is more akin to tracing rather than referencing. Also I think she may not have a drawing tablet which makes digital art a pain.

I wonder if she's still wanting to be a Disney artist, because at this point nothing short of re-learning how to draw can help her get there.

This is what I do since I'm using an older version of photoshop and especially because it doesn't always recognize my tablet. When they do cooperate together however I'll use my tablet to sketch out changes or additions and then do the real lineart with the line tool, just like I do with my pencil sketches. Learning how to use the line tool made my art jump leaps and bounds overnight. I'm embarrassed I didn't learn about it sooner since I'm mostly self taught and couldn't find many tutorials or advice at the time that wasn't "lol tablet".

I always find this thread very odd because this is a horny yet dumb woman who makes semi-passable art but no one wants to fuck her. Then you got another thread with a psycho Asian lady who drinks her own period blood and has a huge wart on her butthole but everyone posts about her figure.

Very confusing, you know?

Well that threw me for a loop. Who the fuck even?

Aside from decade long infatuation with John Silver, DF is pretty boring. More so than her contemporary, Wogglebug Lover.

Yellow fever is a hell of a drug.

Those sailor moon redraw show practically no improvement from her art from , like, 2015. I wonder if she's still using the same version of Photoshop without a stabilizer or pen pressure.

Also those dobermans have no paws.

She tryin' some Liefeld shit by hiding their paws with chunks of grass.

In terms of proportion, this isn't at all bad, until you look at the face and it's all asymmetrical and misshapen with the nose pointing the wrong way. This one more than any of the others looks like an amalgamation of traced elements put together without the benefit of any anatomical awareness.

Her sketches of real people are good, but what kills me is the self-insert OC she has. I know why she puts herself in her non-shipping pics, she doesn’t like Sora or Kingdom Hearts in general.
Her excuse: Sora’s whiny.

Not too bad on the edit there, if I point out.

The rearrangement of the eyes, nose and mouth REALLY makes a good difference.
Late to the party, but the coloring on the Sailor Moon redraw is just...awful. What is it with non-poc artists giving Asian characters yellow skin?
That last painting tho, really impressive. I'm wondering why her traditional skills don't translate as well when she does digital.

You know, I actually somewhat feel sorry and pity DisneyFan01. She has potential and talent, but she wastes it on digital tracing and venting her loneliness/desperation onto everyone, instead of moving on, and creating things that aren't fandom pandering.

I wonder what her offline life was like? I wonder if she is an un-favorite of her family growing up or something? Hmmm....

I will admit, there is something sad about her obsession with a fictional character from a failed Disney movie (especially one that she had to alter to fit her own ideals.)

TBH, I like Treasure Planet and think it is an interesting take on Treasure Island, but being madly in love with a fictional character, only to hijack their canon personality into an idealized lover insert, comes off as a cry for help, as well as needing a hug at the same time.

I think she would've done better if she'd been born 40 years earlier. There have always been people in society who are average intelligence, not socially adept, and have no real skill or motivation to make something for themselves. There used to be jobs for them, and they tended to age out into boring retired people with a few pets and houses full of bland furniture, but nevertheless seemed to manage comfortably and pay off the mortgage.
Disney and other animation companies back in the day used to hire a lot of women to paint cells and do inbetweening, before outsourcing it to countries with lower wage standards and replacing it with tech. Avrett would have been ideal for this job, and it wouldn't matter that she has no understanding of proportion and anatomy.
These days these kinds of people don't have much of a place in society. They seem to be encouraged to do useless college degrees and accrue debt, and make art that's entertaining but not in the way they intended it.

I can't believe she's had Marina for 22 years. That's insane! It seems like only yesterday it was 15 or so and even that was pretty wild.
I'd imagine that some OC's will have to die hard compared to others. Marina being around for 22 years with whatever amount of cyborg manbear alien love (and possible issues others may of mentioned that I haven't read of from this thread due to loss of interest) may be insane but let's never forget that she ain't the only one when we got all the Sonichus and Rosechus Chris made.
