Yeah that seems like the no brainer tactical option, but sandniggers are a bit dumb even for no brainers. They could also just pack the rockets with chemical stuff or shrapnel and litter the area even if the missile gets shot down mid-air. Organic mercury is very lovely. But I doubt they even know what organic means lol.

Re lasers vs missiles, the US and Israel have been fiddling with them for decades. There are a bunch of prototypes but nothing that's ready for widespread deployment yet. For obvious reasons no one's keen on making a defense network using chemical lasers because that would require producing and storing tons of highly toxic chemicals for every single battery.
