Sounds like I'm going on the defense, but I'm not gonna let some horny 50 year old guy thirsting after a 17-19 year old girl kill any love I have for the music and tbh don't care to a point beyond the age difference being huge (looking at European reactions and my canadian friends response, it's largely meh).

Least this ain't some Gary Glitter levels of shit.

Yeah but he cheated on his wife of 27 years. I could see megaDave do something like this, seeing as he tried to ditch his wife twice and had admitted to cheating on her multiple times in his book but not-so sweet innocent Junior.

There is no justifying this tbh, guess it’s time to separate the artist from the art.
 
I want to say this is shocking, but knowing how prevalent and easy it is to access people through technology, I'm not as surprised as I should be. David Ellefson doesn't come off as that type of guy, but the fans only see him from a musical perspective. What he did was embarrassing and I'm sure he regrets it to an extent, but this will haunt him and more importantly, his family. It's a shame his wife and children will have to deal with the fallout from this nonsense. Lust, fame, and technology do not mix well.

Megadeth is my favorite band and always will be. I still respect David Ellefson for his musical ability. This is still a private matter, despite how disgusting and deplorable it is. I do not condone his actions and I hope his family can recover from this.
 
This sort of shit in music is pretty common. "Age of consent" was just an advisory, if the groupie looked old enough, it didn't matter. Led Zeppelin is infamous for doing this shit but pretty much every big name got to do it. Doesn't surprise me at all that decades later, these aging musicians would still be operating under that mindset even if you'll give them the benefit of a doubt and assume they learned better with age.

Still sucks though since David Ellefson's a legend, but ah well.

Depending on the state or country, he might be okay since in a lot of places the age of consent is 16 or 17.

eh, its Mustaine’s band anyway so it’s not like he can take away our full enjoyment of it and big Dave has made decent albums without him. Mostly disappointed and somewhat disgusted with his bassist though.

A rockstar and a 17 year old? Do not give a shit. It's something between him and his wife.
