I'd kind of love to see a compilation of all the greedy food/booze posts Tess has made on SM over the past year or so. Didn't exactly scream anorexia.

I thought I'd do it but damn that's a lot of pages to browse, so I decided to just do a compilation for this year. Then I realized it'd take a lot longer than I expected, so I'm posting only from January to March of this year.

So here's what Tess Holliday, who, in her own words was technically diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, a condition that makes people feel pathologically afraid and ashamed of eating and gaining weight to the point they'll starve themselves on purpose and purge what little they ate (through compulsive exercising, and/or throwing up and/or using laxatives) has not only eaten, but also proudly posted on social media for the world to see:

• January 13: A cake saying "fat girl" in the frosting, because there's nothing an anorexic would be prouder of admitting.
• January 16: Yet another cakesaying "fat girl" - though I'm not sure whether it's the same cake as before, as it seems to be the same design but the colors seem different.
• January 24: She posts about the healthy food she's consumed: a vegan chocolate chia cookie and homemade roasted carrots. However, shortly after she shows us a cake made out of Reese's she is preparing, describing it as "not sponsored, just fat".
• January 30: Tess appears sitting down on the floor directly in front of her open fridge stocked up on ice cream cartons.
• January 31: As an anorexic intent on avoiding food, Tess purposefully drives for hours from her place to the Madonna Inn to buy pink champagne cake.

• February 8: Tess shows us her choice of coffee creamer: Fruity Pebbles flavored creamer, because regular creamer isn't enough for an Ana-chan — you also need all the sugar from breakfast cereal along with it.

Olly, being vegan, can only eat the candies (so long as they have no animal products, so any chocolates are out). And Olly clearly adores being anorexic - see any of her many body checks - so I doubt she had anything besides one glass of champagne.

• February 14: Tess starts the Valentine's Day proper with yet another breakfast cereal-flavored bottle of coffee creamer. She also ordered a cake for herself (costing 125 dollars!).
• February 15: she was gifted at least a bunch of twinkies and two more cakes.
• February 16: as the typically anorexic control freak she is, she orders a king-sized cake from New Orleans to LA, worth $75.

Once again, @multiverse helpfully breaks down this 72-hour binge:

So now, in a 72 hour period, Tess has consumed:
3 cakes
12 doughnuts
12 twinkies
18 mini cupcakes
24 pieces of hard candy
12 pieces of chocolate candy

We added up the candy, cupcakes and doughnuts and were up to around 9,600 calories. But the cakes jack that total up significantly: each slice of homemade cake - with frosting! - will come out to approximately 500 calories. The cakes look like the don't exceed 8" in diameter, so let's estimate they make 6 chunky slices each.

Leading to an approximate visible sweets only caloric total of 18,600 calories.

Edit: ah shit, I forgot to add in the twinkies - I was too memorized by the cakes calories! Twinkies are 270 calories for two twinkies. So with 12 twinkies being 1,620, our new 72 hour visible sweets caloric total is:
20,220.

Yes, Tess Holliday, technically diagnosed with the same eating disorder as fellow lolcows Ashley Isaacs ("The Lich Queen", a woman so withered by anorexia that she looks more like a Halloween decoration than a human being) or Anna Johnson (a skelly who elaborates the most disgusting calorie-free concoctions and got herself a fucking stoma to be able to purge more efficiently) consumed more than twenty thousand callories in three days, as a true and honest Ana-chan.

I can't even begin to imagine how much lying down on the floor flailing her limbs helplessly exercising, vomiting and shitting it must've taken Tess to purge it! Poor gorl.

• February 27: she shares a post made by the barista at the Starbucks she frequents. She eats there "every morning".

What is it with fatties and anorexia? Do they want the victim points without the suffering?

I've never heard a fat chick claim to have an eating disorder where she eats too much, only ever too little. That's why they stay fat, because they never think they eat too much when they do.

If you recall the old ana-chan thinspo sites from back in the day, a surprising number of the most vocal members were chubby or overweight girls, LARPing as faerie-thin ana-chans. There was a big problem keeping them out, and some sites actually instituted signups with photographed body checks (write a certain phrase on your emaciated figure, send photo) to keep all the rolypoly roleplay gorls from shitting up the forums with “OH MAH GAWWWD YOU BITCHES, like I haven’t eaten ANYTHING in fifteen days except gum!! I saw all these FAT GIRLS at the maaaaall and I laughed at how ugly they were, I felt like soooo much better about how my thighs don’t touch. My current weight is 100 pounds but my goal is to weigh 75, is that too little???”

This was rubbish posted by girls who were already into the plus sizes in real life. Why? Dunno. Self-hatred? A longing to pretend to be small and fragile and waifish? Maybe. A lot of young girls around that time saw anorexics as the Popular Girls...probably because a lot of teen-aimed media at the time portrayed the “mean popular queen bee at school” as secretly having A Miserable Life despite her riches and popularity and looks...and anorexia was usually the dramatic punishment for this character.

This actually has led to a big misconception about how anorexics perceive other people, or their motivations for things. A lot of places reporting on these websites would take all the posts at face value, not realize less than half of them were posted by real ED sufferers and the rest were larpers.

Most of the fake chubby “anas” would roleplay as mean girls because I think a lot of them were social outcasts and longed to be in the exclusive group. And because they didn't understand SHIT about anorexia, because they didn’t have it. So they thought real anorexics laughed at fat people all day and ridiculed them.

You could tell who was a real anorexic, because they posted very little about other people or comparing themselves, barely even noticing other people on the street. Mostly they just spiraled inwards in a depressing pit of self-hatred and fear of food...posting their weigh ins every day and keeping an online journal of how depressed it all made them. It wasn’t about comparing to other people, it was about hyperfocusing on all of one’s own flaws and hating it.

The roleplaying big girls would meanwhile be shitting up the boards with “I SAW A FAT GIRL TODAY AND HAWWWW I LAUGHED, WE NEED MORE FATTIES AROUND TO MAKE ME LOOK EVEN THINNER BY COMPARISON. FAT GIRLS SHOULD STAY HOME THEY’RE SO UGLY AMIRITE LOLLL”


Here is how many ED sufferers see it: anorexia is the “good” ED, the one you WANT to have if you have to pick one. It’s the good one because Pretty Popular Girls have it, it’s associated with famous people like Mary Kate and Ashley, like supermodels, like starlets, like Kate Moss and Hollywood and glamour.

Bulimia or BED is for the fat girls.

“Atypical” anorexia is for the normal sized girls who are too weak-willed to actually lose a lot of weight.

That’s how the ranking goes, when you’re either mentally ill or a young teen with crushing insecurities about your weight. Or if you’re Tess Dumbarse Holliday and want the Shiny Hollywood Eating Disorder, not the boring Fat Girl one, so you claim to be anorexic when you’re the size of an overstuffed arm chair.

Lastly, can I just say that when I checked the farm today, I thought, “oh that’s right, Tess claimed to be anorexic!” And it felt like I forgot it was my birthday. I can’t wait to see how she’s spinning her “explanation” for when she returns to social media.
