paused the game to talk about dinner lol
Just one of many examples of Phil only ever doing for Phil, and giving zero fucks about the quality of the stream taking a hit from it. He could talk and game at the same time, which would make for a better stream, but doesn't want to, so he doesn't. He could take a break and shoot the shit with chat after actually exerting himself, which would make for a better stream, but doesn't want to, so he doesn't. He could make a fun game out of "Guess what Phil cooked?" (I know he doesn't cook, but humor me here), which could make for a better stream (for his kinds of fans anyway), but doesn't want to, so he doesn't.

What kills me is that none of what I mentioned is difficult or time-consuming, and he still can't be arsed. And this is Phil just doing for Phil, we're not even touching on Phil being pissed at his audience over something and going out of his way to be passive-aggressive as fuck towards them.

Of course this is nothing compared to making his fans wait through downloading a giant patch for Cyberpunk and then taking a break from the stream. Which wasn't even Phil being a pissy bitch. Just regular old inconsiderate and selfish Phil. Un-fucking-believable, that was.

I think if he really wants to get the ball rolling on going back to YouTube he should do a membership fundraiser. Just say it's because some expenses came up that he can't cover and try to move his Twitch audience over to become YouTube members. YouTube has a join button now. Also, it gives those people a reason to come watch him stream on YouTube and therefore a chance of more tips. Also, his whales will donate regardless so he could get some extra money on top by having them become members on his YouTube channel.

It's just an idea I had. Phil if you see this maybe give it a thought.

I'm pretty sure he can't, which is part of the reason the pre-streams/hands off controller rants exist.

EDIT: There's 0% chance he's finishing Returnal. Unless the difficulty is being massively overhyped or the Devs cave to public pressure and patch in a babby/game journo mode that allows quicksaving.

So that's 3 games which are getting axed: Danganronpa, Divinity, and now Returnal. Can't wait to see him play more COD!

Phil is not actually considering a move, that's just to get his fans worried for money-making purposes.

You may be right about him not being able to, but the rest? I don't think so. Phil seems to move about a lot more when he's just talking to the camera, even if he's not live, which is one of the reasons why I think he still gets nervous about it, and that his stimming acts up from that nervousness. That's what I expect his pre-streams are about, getting as much of that out as possible as he mentally prepares himself for the only interaction he has with people. Why else does he need to be invisible during them, if he's going to stim in front of everybody to an extent anyway once he does turn the webcam on? And drop the controller anyway during rants, which feature plenty of stimming as well? It's because during the pre-streams he's dreading what's coming, and once that's over, he's stuck doing his best to control it, which at times isn't very well because he's having one of those days.

Thirteen years, he still isn't over his stage fright. I would find that a lot more odd if it weren't for everything else about him that hasn't grown.

In a time when he needs more material, he's throwing so much away. One more reason to think he isn't legit worried about his predicament like he wants his fans to think he is. I can't wait for them to see the stark contrast when he finally does start actually panicking.

I don't know why Phil thought it'd be a good idea for him to play a roguelike.

He seems to fundamentally misunderstand how that genre works, constantly complaining that the upgrades are not permanent.

Phil is the kind of a gamer that requires the game to let him become OP by cheesing or grinding. Roguelikes are all about making you have more alternatives to play the game how you prefer, but you'll still probably not become OP unless you get very lucky.

Long story short, I can't wait to see him rage more, insult his viewers and drop the game calling it shit.

It's also not going to work at all...

He's already played his hand, by moving to another platform he admitted he might make less money so why the fuck would he do that?!?

It's like threatening to set your house on fire if paypigs don't buy him a new one. It's completely retarded.

You have to have a room temperature IQ to think this is anything other than complete bullshit.

Considering that certain “game journalists” are whining about the difficulty and can’t finish the game, Phil will no doubt be grifting.

Phil treats his 'job' like a 50s minimum wage factory worker presses a button to stamp out sprockets. He expects the same routine day in day out clock in and out on the dot each 4 hr 'work'day. Okay maybe not quite on the dot for clocking in but you get the idea. Any sort of challenge or novelty is not his job description and above his paygrade. But at the same time he expects rock star compensation.

he is totally ruled by rigid habits and perpetually lives in 2009 so in his brain right now he's a top streamer and gaming icon and thus obliged to showcase the new hardcore title. from the outside its obvious that he could be Just Chatting, actually having fun on pokemon snap or doing a DSP tries it re: the ideal crayon tasting menu and his tips board wouldn't be any worse. but if phil wasn't hopelessly imprisoned in his own head none of this would be happening at all.

Because someone at Twitch is watching him, waiting for a great moment to drop the banhammer on him and make his move to YouTube for him.
I highly doubt anyone at Twitch knows who Phil is other than the guy who masturbated on stream once. No one takes him seriously other than himself, retarded whales and autistic detractors.

I guess this is the third game in what a week two weeks that Phil has threatened to wagequit? Thats how you run a channel and thats how you encourage people to tip. A grown adult with a buisness degree. Did the rest of his brain leak out his ear or something after the partnership loss?

DSP is worried as fuck. Anyone who thinks this is part of some master plan for pity bucks (which he has gotten, mind you) has missed all the times DSP has been a stupid fuck, like he is right now pretending $600 a day is even remotely an option from his whales.

In regards to Returnal, he’s 100% going to wagequit the game.

He’s not even done with Act 1 yet. Actually, last I checked he was still in Chapter 2 (Crimson Desert) of Act 1. The boss in that one is harder than the boss of Chapter 1 as well.

I actually beat Act 1 by getting super lucky and finding an Auto Rocket Launcher that auto-targeted enemy weak points. The Chapter 3 boss is fucking hard. It requires dashing, environmental awareness, and getting a weapon that enables to fire from far distances. If you go with the shotgun or Hollowkeeper, you’re fucked. Then you’re back to Chapter 1 and restarting the whole play through loop, which he is going to hate and constantly bitch about.

Act 2 is incredibly difficult and I’m having trouble completing Chapter 3 of that same act. And I primarily only play Roguelikes/ Metroidvanias on PC, so yes, we can expect the typical “See, I told you Roguelikes didn’t make for good streaming games and there’s no point in finishing the game” talk.

EDIT: not to stroke my own dick but only 6% of players have completed the Act 1 achievement. I absolutely do not expect DSP to complete it. He never sprints; uses dash poorly and not situationally; facetanks hits in a game where the core philosophy is the antithesis of getting hit (Adrenaline rewards you for kill streaks while not getting hit). He’s going to be miserable. But, hey, he did down Ishin in 5 tries in Sekiro so anything can happen.

People have speculated that the whales would keep up the pity party for a month or so. It's barely been a week since the departnering and Phil is sweating bullets.
Sending out whale calls, threatening his viewers with game suspensions/abandoning Twitch, the usual guilt-tripping. And Phil hasn't updated Patreon because he's absolutely clueless when it comes to doing something for others and what his autistic fanbase actually wants from him. I wonder how many of those new rewards will become Detractor Memes down the line.
Phil obviously won't leave Twitch any time soon but man if this whole fiasco hasn't been fun. He obviously got too comfortable with his position and now he's floundering for a solution.
