He even goes one step beyond - he's trying to make people accept mediocrity as if it was equal to mastery.
He's trying to change what people think by claiming that every piece of "art" has something to be admired for, he tries to stiffle and shut off any kind of criticism and he's trying to come to terms with his own mediocrity by making excuses.
And he's doing all that while claiming to be a nice guy trying to deal with this huge amount of 'toxic behaviour'* - so you're either with him and another nice guy, or you're some meany shitlord that just wants to twoll poor Andrew Dobson by saying the mean words to him.

The ultimate irony being that, as he has demonstrated time and time again, will happily offer uninvited criticism of other peoples work, whatever medium that may be.
See - A Japanese person may have created a story arch which negatively depicted a Transsexual, therefore fuck Japanese media. Tumblr shiny nose/joint "Uhhh, maybe tone it down a little."
Pretty sure he was on the "Fallout 4 is violent. Therefore it is no good." train. "STOP BEING SEXIST!!!!!." + Hyper-Sexual mage lady. Etc.
He isn't trying to change what people thing in general. He does't want a magical world of sunshine and rainbows where nobody ever criticizes any art ever. Then he'd have to stop criticizing things.
He wants a magical world of sunshine and rainbows where nobody criticizes any art ever if the artist is named Andrew Dobson.
It's like the problem that
both sides of the political isle have when it comes to Doxxing. When it happens to one of theirs, it is a horrible crime and there must be immediate legislation against it because it is the most awful thing that could ever be done.
When it happens to one of their opponents, it's fucking hilarious.
Apply the same general principle to artistic criticism and you've got a good idea of how Dobson seems to view the idea.
