Here's the thing though, you go hardcore out of your way to defend Vic. Like to the point that you say shit like "THIS BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS CINNAMON ROLL WOULD NEVER" even though there are reasons to dislike him or things about him (his creepy fanclub that his mother was a part of). It is obvious the sexual encounters and shit never happened. But his biggest mistake was suing Funimation. Had he laid low the outcome might have been different.
I say this because him suing them and it being known only makes the people that hate him fuel to continue to hate him. Now as you can see it has spread like wildfire that cannot be quelled.
Gotta stop holding these actors up as holy gods because at the end of the day they are just people. And some may disappoint you. i.e. never meet ur heroes. At the end of the day it is just weeb shit. There are rumors that have been going as far back as the 00's. Personally I don't think it has to do with assault or anything like that, but there have been reports of him being slightly narcissistic. He was at one time the go to anime VA that was everywhere. Perhaps he acted like a diva. Perhaps he really did refuse to sign yaoi or whatever. He is human as you and I are. People make mistakes.
Tl;dr the kickvic ppl are scum but stop acting like he's this perfect angel

I can see where you're coming from but here's the thing though, that's what they wanted him to do. Towards the end of Monica's deposition she said she wanted him to do exactly that. If Vic had done that and nothing else the outcome would turned out worse for him.
Suing Funimation might not have been the best move but there really wasn't any other options at that time.

I agree with most of this except that he shouldn't have sued.
The idea that Vic should've laid low snd everyone would've welcomed him back in a few years is a lie that needs to die. He was never going to be welcomed back. He was done the moment the scum in Funi decided he needed to go. People don't recover from metoo, and as we followed this saga from 2019 to present year we know people like Manjawlo, whose delusions were given weight because of the seemingly credible lies of the defendants, will never stop hounding and harassing this man or any con that dares to treat him with some courtesy.
He's permanently damaged. It's highly unlikely he will ever work in anime ever again, and his con invites will eventually dry up if he's not acting or directing. Any retirement plan he was making got stomped into the mud and lit on fire. His only recourse now is to hopefully scoop a retirement out of the defendants' fat, and possibly repair some of his reputation in the process.
Barring a successful appeal, he's lost, sure. But at least, it showed his fans that he vehemently opposed the rumors enough to not only sue, but to possibly lose, too. Imagine if he hadn't sued. All the fans and Risembools would, over time, be asking that question. Why didn't he sue. Then you get that niggling doubt that maybe, just maybe, those rumors are true, and maybe it's time to stop giving him autograph money.
TLDR: he had no choice but to sue.
