I can't help but recall the tweet he wrote saying he wanted the main cast to have a close-knit 'friendship' that he would depict better. Pretty sure friends don't kiss each other or grab one another's titties.

On one hand, I think if Tom's personality wasn't the way it is, people would like his art more. He isn't talentless for sure. But on the other hand, considering his age, his skills are kind of behind. (and he's been iffy on critique in the past) In short: People like to pick on tom presto because he's tom presto
Oh, without a doubt. Sure, correct anatomy, perspective, light sources etc. make a piece of work that much stronger. But when it's meant to be a
humorous image, I do think people are prepared to knock a big discount off, providing the image is just that -
funny. For example, after reading posts pointing out Dobson's anatomy failures (mismatched limbs etc.), I looked over the cartoons of our very own Curt Sibling. And I'll tell you right now, Mr Sibling is a highly accomplished artist,
always bang on the money with his anatomy and all the rest of it. Yet even if he wasn't, I can't imagine us tearing into him the way we do with Dobson. The reason being, Dobson is about as funny as finding blood on your toilet paper - plus he's a whiny, arrogant, and deeply self-centred little man with a
dreadful work ethic. It's the combination of these things that results in people
not feeling well-disposed towards him - or prepared to make
any allowances for shortcomings in his work.
