I remember critics bashing Trio of Towns for not being Stardew Valley. Which sucks because Trio of Towns blows Stardew Valley out of the water in almost every way. Hell even the FoMT remake wasn’t safe from the “why play this when SV is better?” complaints.

Speaking of Story of Seasons the newest game just came out and apparently it has a shitload of issues and is shallow as hell. Even Japanese players are unhappy and replying to official tweets with their grievances.

but muh gaydew valley has been developed by 1 person (not counting the tools he used which were developed by other people...), also thank you for giving me a game to check on later, will download the iso since i can't travel back in time to buy it.

sort of but you can also say it's moot even though arcade was difficult as fuck to eat coins, you could still beat it granted you were autistic enough, bullet hell arcades were money chompers but they are different than microtransactions because you didn't need to pay for superpowerbars and whatever, all you paid was for continues/lives.

Comparing arcade games to microtransactions and pay2win was always a bad meme, and nothing is more evil than modern predatory pricing strategies.

Resident Evil 6 is fun and y'all are just mean.

Yeah I definitely agree it's the worst of the mainline series but I feel it doesn't get anywhere near enough credit for trying something new. It's like four different games in one and all have their own different flavour and genre. Especially considering how generic and absolutely boring RE5 was, RE6 was honestly a blast and while I do agree RE7 was much better overall (and was absolutely terrifying), I feel RE6 has more replay value.

I'm halfway on that road with you. RE6's Raid mode is an absolute hoot. I can do without the main game.

Civvie was how I heard about Gman and checked him out. Did not like it. Mandalor Gaming is very similar but I can tolerate and sometimes enjoy his videos even though I don't really know what the difference is between them.

AT LEAST the Switching having 32GB internal memory means that games don't take more than a day to download from sheer bloat. It's still not good but there's no totally uncompressed million GB game files.
That's the one silver lining to it, but it's a good one.

I also enjoy RE6, but forced stealth with Ada always sucked. Mercs was pretty good as it feels like a refined version of what RE5 Mercs (and the 3DS Mercenaries game) was trying to do.

It took my younger dumbass self far too long to realize that Mortal Kombat 2's AI was rigged so that after the first couple of fights (regardless of difficulty), no matter what you did or how well you timed it, all attempts to throw an AI opponent would automatically result in the opponent throwing you instead. Why? Because fuck you, that's why.

It's actually pretty clever. Single player fucks you over but playing against someone gives you a fair chance. But time spent playing per quarter in versus will be shorter than playing single player so it will bring in more money. Yarvis and all those guys at Midway were devious fuckers.

I like Skyward Sword and aside from Fi being aggressive in the hand holding which is an understandable complaint, I never got the hate the game got online because I still enjoyed playing it and it seemed like a perfectly fine game to me.
