This article (archive) mentions a "Gene Smith" and "Kevin Gibes" as a pair who turned up to some nerdass Disney event. And, who should show up if you search "Gene" on Mr. Gibes' FB friends list?
One Genevive Smith, whose FB ID is gene.smithiv and who has a bunch of links to Freson (Californa State University, worked at Fresno State, etc.). So clearly an early friend, given Kev's links to Fresno. However, the "about" section of his profile says "E.J. Smith" as birth name. Dude is clearly a man, despite being called "Genevive":
Even odds whether he was originally called Gene and Kevin groomed him post-Kathryn trooning, or Mr. E.J. Smith trooned first and went stealth with "Gene", before encouraging Kevin to become Kevryn. Either way... wild that there's a connection between Kevin's "deadname" and a troon already not using his birthname.

This website (and this one) lists a Susan Jean Gibes/Damsen, who's shared addresses with a Kevin Gibes in Fresno in the past. Initially thought she was Kevryn's fiance, but I think actually she's probably his mom based on her FB (note the high school in 1969-1973). Seems to be on her second marriage, given the "Susan Hess" as an alternative name, and the fact she's currently married to a guy with the surname Damsen. Interesting Kevryn doesn't have her as a FB friend tho. Unfortunately, her friendslist is on lockdown so I can't check that.
Further to Kevin's sister's instagram, though, a search reveals an Erin Michelle Jendras (or maybe Erin Kastle? This family structure is a mess), 41 years old (so older than Kevin) who's lived in CA with a Kevin Gibes. Digging through the records suggests the M in Kevin M. Gibes stands for Michael... And further digging suggests the existence of a Connor Gibes, related to both Erin and Kevin and Susan.
Re: fiance, incredibly circumstantial (and there's apparently a Karen Simpson who's ancient and taught at a Fresno-linked university, so I might be barking up the wrong tree), but there's a (different?) Karen Simpson nee Snider in CA (Simpson seems to be her married name- the Barbara Snider mentioned on that page is her mother, and here's the obituary from 2011 where Karen Simpson is mentioned as a daughter alongside husband David of Visalia) associated with a Kevin Michael Gibes. She might also be called Karen Nycum (associated with the names Karen J Snider/Snyder, and also with Visalia).
There's a photo of her(?) from 2014 (he's apparently mid-30s currently, and broke up with his fiance aged 29; if she was quick off the mark to find a new fiance, the timelines might match up???) in a theatre production related to Visalia (overlap with Kevin's art/fandom focus?), where she's mentioned as Karen Simpson (so already married to not-Kevin) and doesn't seem to be ancient but it's hard to tell her age. Despite my best googling attempts, I haven't been able to find anything further on them, and Kevin's FB has no mention of a Karen, or of any Simpsons or Sniders, so...????

Eh...I actually don't really know about that. Yes, they have guns and like to show them off like every other gun owner. That's true. But waving a gun around and actually pulling the trigger on a person are two different things.
