There are others, too. Some of the bandits are female. The Forsaken have lots of female models too if I remember right (plus armor that barely covers anything). The harpies have titties too so I guess they count.

If he was really in favor of non-violent games there are plenty of alternatives like the Sims, the Tycoon series, and basically any city building game except Tropico. Portal is pretty non-violent, mostly focused on puzzle solving, and features a female protagonist who is wildly praised by feminists (but then again Dobson is probably too dumb to finish it). On the other hand his Nintendo fanboyism probably limits his access to a lot of these games.

Well, you can download lots of retro games straight to your Mii and those are non-violent... maybe? Is Pac-Man non-violent? I think it is, but Dobson might say otherwise.

Point is Dobson is a big fat hypocrite. He's so obviously insincere with this whole non-violent bullcrap because he never even tries to find games that are non-violent. In fact I'd bet money that he only hopped on this bandwagon after getting addicted to Splatoon and realizing it was getting praise on twitter for being "non-violent" when really it's no different than any other shooter.
Leisure Suit Larry is non-violent.

You know, on that "female npcs you have to fight/kill in Skyrim" thing... I just remembered something that might be the real reason for going Stormcloak:

They have random female members when aside from one or two specific npcs, the imperials are all males. Might as well lap up more fauxminist* points! Seriously, do you not see him going for the arguably racist savages just because missoggyknees in the Empire?
*Fauxminist being... well, the fake-feminist types you see all over the internet, typically male. Original word do not steal.

I just googled 'Tom Preston' and chopped out faces from comics at random. I tried to get the most neutral expressions I could for most of them, just so it wasn't those causing the faces to be ugly.

Would you ever find any of those characters endearing? I understand that some of these characters are strawmen from Dobson's comics, so it is understandable some of them are purposely drawn ugly, but the rest? It looks like paint-a-potato day at preschool.
The biggest problem is how hard he's forcing himself to not draw anime-esque due to his own insecurities. So he piles on more detail and exaggerated, cartoonish features in a ham-fisted attempt to scream "look how anime I'm not being". Except that details show age and flaws, and exaggerated features are done for audiences to laugh at them. He's someone who learned to draw an anime style desperately trying to draw what he thinks an American style looks like even though it's not in his wheelhouse.

So add "insecurity" to the long list of things this waste of space is sabotaging his own artwork with. The fact that he considers himself an artist with any sincerity is laughable.

Well technically, you can have expressions be exaggerated and still work.

Kinda did a very bland "leering suspiciously" on the top left and an exaggerated version to the right. Thing is, beyond narrowing the eyes more and scrunching the face up, I've not really changed it all that much. It pushes the expression a bit further without looking distorted beyond what's needed.

And below is basically the Dobson method of exaggerating a face which amounts to "ADD MORE LINES" which are almost always very long and very thick... suddenly the face above looks like it aged about 40 years in a millisecond because, well, loads of thick, long wrinkles have been added rather than just altering proportions a little. If anything the guy loves giant wrinkles almost as much as inflation...

Doesn't help that he often looks like he's trying to ape the style of those horrible old cartoons that don't lend themselves well to such exaggeration, given his massive hard-on for Dic *badum-tish!*

So did Dobbo's pirate webcomic ever have a fanbase, or was it always just wank material for him?

Aside from a couple followers from his deviant art account i dont think either Alex or "so your a shitty cartoonist" ever had fanbases.

Dobbie has had his comics printed via Lulu so sales figures and amazon ranking should be pretty easy to find.

Volume one has an amazon all time best sellers ranking of 3,964,973 and holds a goodreads rating of 3.67 (someone actually gave it five stars)

Volume two has an amazon all time best sellers ranking of 5,499,798 and is currently unrated.

So I guess that makes him less successful than Lolcow writers Robert Stanek and Gloria Tesch.

Unsurprising most of the reviews on amazon are full of sly inflation gags.

Última edición:
She isn't a great writer either. Her comic just apes Hetalia, which is not stellar material to rip off in the first place.

She also apparently has a creepy rape fetish.

I don't care about rape fetishes but there are few things more imbecilic than "This country be like THIS, but this country be like THIS!". Not least because it's almost always spectacularly ill-informed.

I dunno, I thought Poland Ball was somewhat harmless.

I don't think Dobson gave it that much thought. He probably sides with the Stormcloaks because the Imperials tried to have him executed and he can't let go of a grudge.
