Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh dies at 70

Conservative talk show radio host and Republican party icon Rush Limbaugh has died. He was 70 years old.

His wife Kathryn announced his passing on his radio show Wednesday, saying Limbaugh died earlier this morning.

“Rush will forever be the greatest of all time,” she said.

Limbaugh had been battling advanced lung cancer since February.

Back in October, Limbaugh provided this somber update on his show: “You know, I wake up every day and thank God that I did. I go to bed every night praying I’m gonna wake up. I don’t know how many of you do that, those of you who are not sick, those of you who are not facing something like I and countless other millions are.”

Former President Donald Trump awarded Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom during his most recent State of the Union address

This appearance only a few days after his he revealed his diagnosis on his show.

“I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this, but the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer,” Limbaugh said in February.

“The Rush Limbaugh Show” first aired in 1988.

The actual reason he's hated so much is that he commented on the slanted media as they were spinning and lying, decades before "fake news" became a thing after people got the ability to fact check the media in 5 minutes of internet searchs.

He never actually attacked Chelsea Clinton either, he was reading a news story and saw a picture of her coming off air force one with her hair frizzed the fuck out and said something along the lines of 'Dear lord, can't they afford to take her to a salon?'

Haven't you seen pictures of her father? There's only so much you can do with Web Hubble's genetics.

No matter which way you slice it, it's dumb to get mad at the gravedancers.

If you hated Rush, well, the guy had certainly worked to earn that hate from you. You're being honest. I hate mealy mouthed people pretending they think assholes smell like roses just because they've shitposted their last.

If you liked Rush, then you can be happy knowing he's mining salt as his body cools. The man relished disrespect coming from people he disrespected. Don't you take that away from him. If he could, he'd be sitting in front of the computer with us, munching popcorn and watching the beautiful rainbow-haired gravedancing parade.

I wish for comfort to his family, pride to his supporters, joy to his enemies, and lulz to the rest of us. Amen.

I was never a fan. Quite the contrary, I fucking hated him.

I hated that he got pushed through the old media and was effectively kept afloat by big networks regardless of how much his popularity waned as vastly more entertaining talk radio shows came and went in the background on both sides of the political aisle. I hated his rote hypocrisy, where he shit all over people who had been nabbed for drug paraphenalia under ridiculous shit like the Rockafella drug laws, only to get caught being involved with the interstate trafficking of pills roughly as strong as heroin with absolutely no self-awareness. I hated the fact that he gravedanced people who disagreed with him politically while pretending he was above that shit every time someone with an infinitely more egregious record finally shuffled off the mortal coil, and while he was never as loathsome as say, Pat Robertson, he spouted enough bullshit that I can safely say I'd never willingly listen to his show.

However, I do find it surreal how so much of the absolute looniest shit he used to spout about feminists and the left ultimately proved prophetic once the most insane parts of the left secured dominance in the establishment and seemed to make it their mission in life to make it seem like, if anything, Rush was underselling it a bit.

As he he mellowed a bit in his later years, I kind of realized every now and then we need an asshole like that, if only to ground us a bit, and sometimes, through their dickery, we can learn valuable things about the world around us.

Anyone who manages to endure the slings and arrows of sustained campaigns to get rid of him the way Rush did - and he absolutely fucking did, I remember campaigns attempting to tank his advertisers well - and still be willing to do what he did deserves some fucking respect, even if as a person, I found him abhorrent. He sure as shit didn't deserve a fight with Cancer and my sympathies go out to his friends and family for their loss.

I listened to him every day from noon-15:00 until he was diagnosed and stopped coming on the air. Probably seven or eight months ago. El Rushbo was funny as hell to listen to. He made fantastic political banter until the point in each episode when he would step over the line into Crazytown. He wasn't worth laughing at once he got fifteen minutes into his serious conspiracy Dem nonsense. He was the precursor to some of the QBoomers.

So many people took him seriously, 100%. I always felt bad for them, because he was obviously running a comedy show. Man, was he worth a chuckle or three.

Rush Limbaugh ruled. His impact cannot be overstated and he changed the face of politics forever. Before Rush Limbaugh, the Republicans had not been in charge of the House for 40 years. After Rush taught Republicans to be vicious and contemptuous towards their enemies, they not only took the House but they dislodged two Speakers. Newt Gingrich owes his standing to Rush Limbaugh even though Newt has tossed it away in recent years. Rush was proof that the best line of attack is the one that makes liberals scream bloody murder.

Do not despair because liberals are still assblasted over Rush. Take heart that even in death Rush Limbaugh makes them this hysterical. That is one hell of a legacy. Libs don't hate Rush just because he's Rush - they hate Rush because he was insanely successful and because he voiced the thoughts and feelings of every day people. Liberals get assblasted over Rush specifically because he voiced the utter contempt non-liberals hold for them. It should be a lesson to all of us that we ought to live our lives so that liberals hate us as much as they hate Rush Limbaugh. Their hate is proof of how effective he was. That is the most important take away here.

I hope Rush Limbaugh and Art Bell are yucking it up in the great Radio Booth in the sky. Godspeed Rush Limbaugh, a great American, a brilliant intellectual, and a man who rescued millions of people from falling into the lefty cult through good humor and brilliant analysis.

AM radio literally wouldn't exist were it not for Rush. He spawned so many imitators on the AM band which made it somewhat profitable. Like him or hate him he managed to keep AM alive.

This is true. Indirectly, he's also a massive part of how media's evolved over the last few decades, and that's something worth celebrating.

Technically, he's only mocked one death while Limbaugh has mocked several, so no, the levels of vulgarity are not equivalent. If I'm wrong, feel free to show your work and break down how you quantified vulgarity, I'm willing to admit if I've made an error in my calculations.

Edit: You "disagree" that one is less than three? What are you, retarded?
You say that like any amount of gravedancing is acceptable. Like a cow. Or are you perfectly fine with me laughing at your gravedancing when you're six feet under? To be clear, I won't because I think it's a despicable thing that only sociopaths do.

Not the guy youre replying to but yes. Youre a literal Who? on the Internet. Get over yourself and stop moralfagging about people being mean on KiwiFarms of all places.
So i'm not allowed to share opinions on the place where people whore out theirs like its going out of style? Great opinion there. Real classy.
Also, reality check, you're exactly as unimportant to everything as I am. So you get over yourself. I am perfectly aware my opinion ultimately doesn't matter. I choose to share it because I want to and expect to extract rage, and thus entertainment, out of it.
