‘Powerpuff Girls’ Live-Action Series - Officially Dead

>now disillusioned twenty-something-year-olds who resent that they lost their childhood to years of fighting crime

The fuck. Didn't they have relatively normal lives when they weren't fighting crime? And was there any indication they were unhappy about it? Hell, if I recall correctly they were pretty happy while doing it.

Wow, it's almost like these people... didn't watch the fucking show or something and are shoehorning this aspect in to manufacture some false "mature" drama.

first box and I already lost, holy shit

Never was a big fan of PPG, but it's only saving grace was that it was animated. I can't imagine anything less appealing than a live action version of a cartoon.

it's gonna be shit because the cartoon was that fucking good, it's pure 90's anything goes with the freedom granted to actually do it. stuff like HIM wouldn't fly at all these days, nor are writers good enough to have an episode where they time travel to the future and everything goes to shit because they disappearted. that shit was fucking dark, especially for a "kids" cartoon.

I will be utterly optimistic they'll hire the "CW" writers who wrote "Riverdale", make Buttercup have a split personality named "Bellum" and the other girls use their Lazer beams to boil the Professor's Jacuzzi or boil the teapot and pour boiling water on him or in the Jacuzzi scenario, blindfold and handcuff him to something.

This is literally in the early episode of the first season of Riverdale.
Edit: forgot a few words.

that would be the best case, riverdale you least could rub one out to (don't tell me that didn't plan for that), but dunno how I'd feel to jerk it to adult real-life blossom.
and now I'm curious how demented bubbles is gonna be portrayed, "dumb" high-spirited stereotype is one of the worst triggers for SJWs out there. besides, the best portrayal was already done by tara reid in the josie & pussycats movie (where a real-life version worked because they actually gave a fuck).

They literally said as much - as a matter of fact, in the episode I embedded, when they DO do stuff like normal kids (in this case, cleaning the room) it's verbatim described as BORING:

Is it so goddamn hard to actually watch the thing you're going to adapt before you adapt it to get a feel for it? Or is staying true to the source material verboten in Current Year +6?

In the updated version of the series, the titular superheroes are now disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting

This almost reads like a bad parody, or a shitty fanfic, like something someone who actually hated the show would produce. But seeing what entertainment has turned into in the last few years, that's probably the case.

Coming soon to a streaming service near you, the edgy reboot, Tedexter's Laboratory.

Enter at your peril, past the bolted doors, where impossible things may happen that the world has never seen before!

"DeeDee, don't touch my manifesto!"

How does this network have any fucking money left, jesus

God, I am going to be so pissed off at the scene where the girls shout at the professor how he “didn’t treat us like your daughters, you treated us like tools! That’s all you wanted in the end” and the show is going to blatantly suggest that’s the truth at which point I’m going to hurl my tv through a fucking window.
Good God the voice actor of The Professor voice actor already had a stroke. The professor doesn't deserved to be disrespect and ruin into a villain.

Última edición:
They're either gonna make Blossom or Buttercup into a lesbo. Just like with that new Velma live action series.
The new unspoken rule of media is that if a female character is A:smart or B:strong/independent/has a personality, she must be a raging closeted lesbian.

I fucking swear if they do that "enemies to lovers" she-ra cliche shit with Blossom and Princess, I'm gonna flip a coffee table. That is, after I've already finished flipping over several entire living rooms because they're going to make the Professor abusive/neglectful.

It's hard to imagine anything more perverse and dumb than this. This is almost as if they had a contest to come up with the absolute dumbest way to adapt a cartoon.

Well, of course. He's a fucking WHITE MALE.
