I doubt shows like this will even be remembered. I can guarantee you no normies have even heard of this show, just autistic culture warriors on both sides. Magical Girl Friendship Squad would be lucky to be remembered as a footnote on the era of shitty woke cartoons with no audience. High Guardian Spice (which doesn't even fucking exist right now) already has the dubious honor of being the posterchild of shitty woke-pandering animation that nobody asked for. It also helped cement public opinion against Crunchyroll, to the point that you really won't find anyone defending HGS outside of far-left media journo rags. This show though? Nobody cared when it came and went, and nobody will care when it's forgotten not even a year after its release.

It's not like Syfy has anything to lose by giving it another season. Granted, they don't have anything to gain from it either, but it's not like the number of people watching Syfy can drop below zero.
The next time you hear about this show will be in 30 years when some future version of the Nostalgia Critic makes a video yelling about how shitty it is on the future version of Youtube.

Better known as Dark Day For Anime
His Usagi is Dead series was what got everyone's attention back then.

It's so obvious pan pizza eats up every piece of shit he reviews just so he can join the cool animators club, which, admittedly, makes sense considering how incestuous the current animation industry. As for him deserving a thread, idk, he's not that spergy besides his constant dick riding, to I've heard rumors of him being a diaper fag, but im not sure about them.

I see pan pizza went to the "Chris Chan school of fitting in with a community." Say what the community wants to hear (or what you think it wants to hear) and sit back and watch the e friends stack up. The only difference being Pan Doesn't have the decades of infamy armies of weens can spam the other members of said community with to get his rep go from shunned to vilified faster than killing joe cobb in new Vegas.
Really if MGFS wasn't being backed up by the msm saying any hate aimed at it is just "Alt right gamergate trolls who can't talk to girls." the cartoon spergatry community wouldn't be defending it.

It looks like it's basically Persona with cartoon OCs, but I think it's a neat idea that just needs polishing. Would be a bit more creative than Friendship Squad, anyway, though not sure if the artstyle could transition into animation any better.

Nah, that's just the "CalArts Style", which refers to the super rounded heads and same bean mouth smile that a lot of modern cartoons have got.
The term CalArts style is a bit of a misnomer though, since a lot of the shows that use character designs like this weren't actually made by CalArts graduates.

its the same damn stupid grin with soft, non threating lines and edges with easy to draw lines copy and pasted over and fucking over again. I hate to agree with a cow (john k) but this stupid style is why western animation is dying.

My tinfoil hat mode tells me CalArts is trying to outdo anime with their pathetic attempts of "unity". Anime has shown the brilliance of subtlety and seeing one's own development as an artist shine through with their artstyle as a natural thing and even as a signature. CalArts has an ugly manufactured off brand fake sugar plastic substitute of cartoon anatomy that screams "cold efficiency for money".

sums up shows like mgfs in a nutshell. mass produced by the ministry of truth modern media has become to be cheap unfufilling fluff that panders to what network execs think is "hip with the kids."
anyway anything new to say about the show? any news if it's been cancelled or getting a second season? otherwise there's really not much else to say about it at this point.
