Glad he doesn't have anything better to do with his time than spout off the standard TDS fare you could get from a million other people. It's not like he still has two books left to write in his most famous work or anything like that, and it's not like it's been quite literally a decade since the last installment. Nope, nothing else to do but fart around on a blog like it's 2003.

I'm glad I never got into ASOIAF, both because it would be maddening to still not have a resolution to the books after all these years, and because GRRM is an ass.
 
I wish it was Wheel of Time that got the HBO series, and not this shitty blathering unfinished series with an author that doesn't give a shit. It's got the heavy worldbuilding, it's got the length, and it's actually complete. Even death couldn't stop the series, thanks to Jordan's notes.

Eventually Sega got tired with the legal drama and ordered Archie to settle with Penders to make him go away, because Sega has LONG been upset that fans preferred the comic exclusive characters and SatAm Sonic supporting cast members over the Sega created/approved supporting characters. The full details of the settlement were never revealed, but after it happened ALL of Echindas that Penders made were imprisoned for eternity in a prison dimension and during a Mega Man/Sonic crossover, Ian Flynn did a soft reboot which basically allowed him to pretend EVERYTHING Penders wrote never happened, as apparently Archie agreed to pay Penders if they ever use his creations. And Sega ominously told Archie if another similar lawsuit was filed, they'd yank the license from them.

But this wasn't what Penders fully wanted: he wanted Ian fired and himself restored to sole writer of Sonic with it "understood" he would never be fired again. Hence why early in the lawsuits, Penders made it clear he would make his lawsuit go away (and in doing so, keep Archie out of the position of having to publicly admit to having lost the original WFH contracts and open themselves up to additional Penders type suits) if they would just fire Flynn and hire him back for life to run Sonic for them.

So when Penders saw that Archie would just wipe out/unperson his material than keep using it AND he had failed in his actual goal (blackmail his way back into the company), Penders had a crony of his who also worked on Sonic to file a similar lawsuit. Which triggered Sega HARD and resulted in them telling Archie it was over and that they were not renewing the license and moving the Sonic book to IDW. Thankfully Ian was on good terms with Sega at the time, so he was invited to join them at IDW, but consequences was severe to say the least.

For you see, for DECADES, Sega wanted to purge the SatAm Freedom Fighters from canon and never allow them to be used again. But Archie was able to defy Sega by pointing out that their license started out as one that was based on the 90s cartoon, meaning the Freedom Fighters were part of it and that they could keep using them as long as they wanted, Sega be damned. With the license now lapsed however, Sega now had the ability to bar IDW from using ANY of the Freedom Fighter characters, let alone characters created by Archie writers, only Sega created supporting cast members. They also used the move to severe the Gordian Knot that Archie Sonic had become by demanding Ian reboot Sonic from the ground up into Sega's image. Meaning the old continuity is permanently dead and gone.

Very mild powerlevel: I was in high school when V for Vendetta was popular. Lefty classmates fucking loved that movie to death. I saw the masks everywhere, that stupid 5th of November rhyme, and the fucking crown jewel of it all: Hugo Weaving's character's famous quote "People shouldn't be afraid of the government. Government should be afraid of its people." Oh, they loved that one...until Obama got elected. Thing is, I fully agree with that quote and didn't dislike the movie whoever was in power notwithstanding. It made good points. I think most of this is these lefties are just envious that a few retards on Reddit are accomplishing everything they ever dreamed of accomplishing. In a way its a bit of a shame seeing that I was really into the old archie sonic comics when I was a wee lad and had many of the original issues. Not sure what happened to them, but they are probably knocking around my parents attic or something as I don't remember selling them.
More importantly years ago I found an art print signed by Penders himself that I have no memory on where I got it (or when possibly met the guy). The kicker is that its dated the same year that Archie comics started publishing the ill fated Knuckles spin off comics. Now years later after lurking the farms and seeing old Ken-boy pop up from time to time (as well as his thread) it has become a bit of a autistic prized possession of mine.
When I see it I can't help but chuckle at the fact that who the fuck knew at the time that allowing this retard to publish his shitty fan fiction would result in such a massive clusterfuck?

Oh give me a fucking break. As much as it'll be hysterical if Trump is fucked off enough about being silenced and deplatformed to start his own digital media outlet, I see they're already gearing up to paint it as a fifth column and nail him to the wall for the audacity of trying to exercise free speech (didn't think anyone would have their head far enough up their ass to call that a "shadow government" but I guess it's hard to follow up "insurrection" and "greatest assault on our democracy" and "genocide" and shit.) This thread might still have some mileage if he manages it.

Well. That's certainly shocking and definitely without any sort of precedent. A president running interference against his successor? why I never. Simply beyond the pale.



Also remember: The Deep State is a lie; no federal employee or agency is loyal to an agenda, party or person. All of them are only loyal to the US government and very trustworthy. But also we must purge the Secret Service because Trump was too popular with them.

Obama didn't run a shadow government per say. He made a big stink about "staying in Washington to lead the resistance".... which lasted about a month before he fled town and spent most of Trump's first year sulking in various 1%er vacation resorts like a petulant child. Because Hillary and Bill refused to fucking vacate the DNC Iron Throne as is tradition when your successor leaves office, as far as the Clintons telling Obama to "fuck off, the DNC is OURS!!!!!"

Obama's only real network to fuck with Trump was his network of federal judges, in deep blue states who were judge shopped by the DNC to get hold orders on all of Trump's agenda items. Bill and Hillary were still running the show util late 2019, when Obama managed to get Biden to run again to cut off a third try by Hillary and managed to win that fight, since by that point Hillary and Bill's hold over the party was weakening and Pelosi's was growing/Pelosi effectively throwing her lot in with Biden and by proxy, Obama.
