Was this the "sweet Georgia peach" somebody mentioned? Maybe I should look the other way.
Pam forms an instructive contrast to you. She exhibits more classic signs of schizophrenia, expressed through erotomania; her delusions of reference, her claims that celebrities are in love with her and/or her mortal enemy. What she asserts is ridiculous on its face and her fantasies match with hundreds of other cases before hers. In spite of this Pam can sound rational and even witty while commenting on matters that don't directly touch on her delusions, but that facade deteriorates quickly and completely in the face of any stressors.
You've said that you feel you don't meet the criteria for schizophrenia because you don't have any delusions. Pam does. She has complex delusions that bring out aggressive behavior when challenged. She melts down online, but as far as I can tell from her cow thread she's seldom taken her assertiveness offline. You've sounded reasonable and intelligent throughout this entire thread, but something made all those teddies cry and call security. Pam's delusion is that Michael Fassbender loves her. Is your delusion the idea that you have diagnosed and can treat your own major illness? When that belief is challenged, do you have fits of temper like the ones Pam has shown in this thread, but in real life?
