I think a lot of The Left's attitudes stem from plain old elitism. The Left will rapidly adopt 'fashionable' shiny new social causes and policies, while also trying to be at the forefront of culture (read pop culture), so as to show off how much more moral or smarter (ie better) they are than everyone else that isn't in near-to lockstep.
Not to say The Right doesn't have some issues with elitism and thinking themselves better than others, but I don't rate it as quite big of an issue due to how much slower their thinking and activities evolve.
End result is that I find it a lot easier to understand The Right's talking points, even if I disagree strongly with some or even think they are plain stupid. Whereas The Left's often seem to be riddled with contradictions in logic before you can even get to the stage of figuring out if you agree with them or not.
Look at that breadpanes crap for example. The Right is being mocked for catastrophising 'the rejection of Christmas' and the implicit rejection/disapproval of Christianity that comes with it. Really easy to understand what their issue is.
Meanwhile the left is busy redefining every second word in the dictionary and every third entry in the DSM so as to try and essentially rewrite reality so that their shit makes any kind of sense.

Related to this, they have elected Evangelicals as their cartoon supervillains for a long time but I have a hard time believing anyone knows anything about them. Like they once saw a poster for the movie "Jesus Camp" and that was it. These people were overreacting tyrants for saying Eminem and Marilyn Manson were bad, when one was openly celebrating murdering women and the other was literally calling himself the antichrist and ripping pages of the Bible out on stage every night. It's like hating Mormons, what is the beef even based on?
