Not surprising. Dobson seems to be stuck in the early 90's. Look at how he envisions Nintendo in his head. The early 90's (or even just the 90's in general) is Dobson's equivalent of high school.

I'm just trying to figure out why this image so greatly annoys me... I think adults making this heart gesture with their hands is just terribly ridiculous... and why does this girl have to have white nothingness in her eyes outside of the pupils?

After seeing these wiggly ass lines, I wonder what size of canvas he works on. The shading on this one is good in parts.. but fails on other parts, somehow. As Galaxy Harasser mentioned already, it has a very.. animeish style to it as well.
Also, I think that the poses just simply look a bit stiff, but maybe that is just me.

Ironically, I think his anime-style art looks better than the more realistic stuff he draws. It's not great, but it doesn't look as overdone as a lot of his other art. It's uninspired and dated, but it's not actively bad. On the other hand, this might be an older piece, in which case it's clear that his art skills have deteriorated over the years.

I have a feeling that he'll eventually screw up like Joss Whedon or they'll grow bored of him (John Green) and he'll slink out.

Honestly, Dobson's already going in the latter route. The trolls and bored people (see: us) are the people that circulate his content and talk about him the most. As much as he hates us, if we ever got bored of him and left, he'd probably lose all but a small inkling of a fanbase. He has a very small genuine fanbase, and he tends to piss off a good majority of it with how lazy, inept, or downright toxic he can be to them at times. The only times he gets them to do more than acknowledge his existence is when he throws hissyfits and "quits" stuff like dA and whatnot, and you can't do that forever before everyone figures out what you're doing and deserts you.

Dobson isn't just a sinking ship. He's almost at the bottom of the ocean.

I dunno why, but the thing that bothers me most is that.. texture(?) noise filter he's seem to put on SmurfBear's body to make it look like fur I guess? But it just makes it look like Dobbear is made out of that fake suede they wrap steering wheels in.

As far as the Confederate flag recolor that comes from GamerGate, it might be a joke (one that could backfire since really, it does look like a stupid joke from GG). Of course, Dobson would still have to give a crap about something most people at this point wouldn't care about save for those that still have some sort of discussion about it.
