The similarities between Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and the loving HOMOSEXUAL couple that is Leonard F. Shaner and James Kaufmann are uncanny...no lips, amazing guts, incredible intelligence and their irascible natures..

@The_Knight_Rider keeps telling us that we don't know the actual Leonard Shaner. I received this letter from a friend of a friend last night and felt that everyone would like to read it. I think we may have been wrong about Len all along:

“I wanted to share with you some personal information about Mr. Leonard F. Shaner, Junior. I want you to know the REAL Len. I’m sure he will deny all of this because that’s his style, but I thought you should know.

“For the past five years, Leonard and I have been in a healthy, committed relationship together. And yes, I am a man. Let me say that I have never met a more kind and gentle individual in my life. The only Len you know is the one you know online. In person, he is funny and charming. He makes train whistle jokes when he breaks wind.

“Occasionally we go on trips together to photograph trains…or so the story goes. We went Philadelphia last year. Len told everyone we were going to see Amtrak, but it was actually so we could march in a gay pride parade. He wore his purple jumper with the rainbow on the butt. It was a surprise for my birthday. Len is that committed to the LGBT cause. Think about it. He was the first in Pottstown to start dressing so colorfully. He is not ashamed of who he is or what he believes in.

“Do you remember the first gay pride march in Pottstown? Probably not, because Lenny was the only one that showed up. Leonard waved his little penis flag up and down High Street all afternoon. Never mind that it was hot out and he was soaked with sweat. Never mind that we’d had a long night and he was sore and was walking like he’d been riding horseback for a week. He was out there in the street, a proud, queer man not afraid to show Pottstown what it looks like to be gay. I’m so proud of him.”

I have to say that I'm more than a little ashamed because of what I've said about Leonard. I think the whole world should know about this, so I did something about it. They're going to print this in the Pottstown Mercury on Monday (please call them if you don't believe me).

I wonder if Shaner got rejected from the military at some point and is butthurt about it. He'd have had to be, what, 18-20something if he'd tried to enlist? And that would have been in around the 70s-80s, yes? If he was 18, it would have been 1975--right before Vietnam ended. Hell, he could have been 17 under the right circumstances. This was right before all those pesky modern standards about health and stuff came about, I believe, since the US military wanted to, you know, get as many soldiers as possible.

This would mean that, despite there being an ongoing war overseas for which the Americans desperately needed new recruits, and despite there being extremely relaxed standards of military enlistment in comparison to today, and despite him apparently having no (known, anyway) felony criminal convictions that would have interfered with his enlistment, and despite being a lively 17-18 year old at his physical peak, Shaner was still rejected from the military anyway. Furthermore, this was in an era before functional autism was even really recognized as a mental illness, which means that if I'm right, he was rejected not because of a diagnosis but because of his behavior.

Even further yet, he's still butthurt about it, and created John Simon to pretend he did live out his dream of actually being respected by people instead of just being some nothing who faps on trains.

This is my theory.
