Makeup Haul & Book Recommendations |12.2.20 - VlogLynnVidmas Day 2

V.C. Andrews is what the YA demographic read before the YA genre exploded in the aughts.

Is this new camera thing similar to Chantel where she knows how to use it properly, but doesn't like the HD results? So she just fucks it up on purpose?

As much as I hate to admit it, and because I am super autistic, all those books combined are about 10k pages and I am being generous because some of them are "poetry" books. She said it took her 6 weeks to read them, so if she read roughly 250 pages everyday of those six weeks she technically could have finished all of them by then end of November. Since she has zero responsibility that's really not that much of a feat. Now do I think she did, no I don't. I honestly would like to see her read something like Geek Love, or fuck it, even the Handmaids Tale. Something a little more dense then Daniel Steel (not saying there is anything wrong with reading those books by any means) but as a writer myself its good to expand your horizons beyond that of candy floss nonsense.

On a side note didn't she read IT? You would think that she would gush about that book since it does have a gay protagonist in it. Granted that out-of-left-field little detail was revealed at the very end (which is good because that meant it took up very little of his identity) but still, since her and the Becks are so LGBTQ positive you would think that it might get a mention . Or maybe not, since all the faggot Tumblerinas were crestfallen when it was revealed in the movie that Pennywise wasn't the super progay mascot they wanted him to be and was actually a terrifying kinda stupid monster that just really liked scaring the the piss out of people and eating them regardless of their gender or sexual affiliation.

People read for a few reasons. If it is for school, it is for class preparation, if it is not, it is either for pleasure or enrichment. She does not seem the type to want to learn, so it has to be for pleasure, but does she likes reading? I am not sure if she does. At 1 page per minute, it would take her over 4 hours per day to read that much, and honestly, I cannot see her doing it. Besides eating, she spends most of her time on social media, TV shows, and shopping. If it took her over a week to put together a child Lego set, I cannot see her cramming one book after another for a full month.

Far for me to defend ALR, but just because a story has LGBT representation doesn’t mean she has to like the story or even be all that interested.
Good point but I will counter that given her shallow personality (making a lesbian themed tik tok in the car while her partner is picking out a headstone for her mother) and how she pretends to be down for the cause of her fellow gays (not to mention that every time she see's a rainbow its automatically LGBTQ) I would imagine that if she came across a gay character in a novel that isn't presented as LGBTQ she would talk about it. Or I could be projecting and giving her waaaay to much credit.

I also mentioned IT because Becky is obviously a fan, I have seen her t-shirts, and it I would be very surprised if she wasn't aware about the Babadook?/Pennywise crack pairing that manifested on Tumblr.

TBH, I think it’s the latter. Also, IT is a VERY long book. No way she’s getting through that.

All of those books look like the garbage you'll find in the tiny wommart book section. Somehow I'm not surprised.

Our gorl reads Danielle Steele novels....

Aren't they 'raunchy'?
They might be but the V.C. Andrews ones are basically abuse/rape porn. Nearly all of them (including the standalones) contain some combination of rape, incest, sexual coercion, and mental/physical abuse.

For someone that claimed to have been raped, and that claims to have PTSD, those are shitty choices of reading material.

Becky got Amber eareens from Claire's, a store literally for little girls and pre teens lmao. Further cementing giant toddler status.
Also apparently Becky can't read numbers. How did she not see the 19 on the advent calendar?

Are they straight girl porn? Would be a bit odd for a lesbean imo.

Wait, did we just get reminded to do all the Covid safety stuff from someone who went to a family gathering in Tennessee about five minutes ago?

People with RLS are just so fat and lazy their laaaygs try to get some sort of excercise and movement in while their lazy owners sleep - it’s their only chance.

If you get “diagnosed” with RLS you are obese and waste a lot of time using Medicaid to visit doctors out of boredom.

These two fucktards are stupid and ugly as cunt. I love how THEY tell ME to wash my hands and avoid gatherings when they just came back from traveling with Hambuckets festering, bacteria-colonized gunt. Fuck off fat lesbian hypocrites!

Generally, but it's more abuse porn than porn porn, if that makes sense?

Specific to the set she bought, the "Casteel Series", it's about a poor Appalachian family, starting with "Heaven" who, at various points, is nearly raped by her father, is physically abused by her father, has all her siblings "sold off" to various people before being sold herself, is coerced into sex with her "adoptive" father, is physically/mentally abused by her "adoptive" mother, is raped by her step-grandfather, mentally abused by her grandmother, has sex with her uncle before moving focus to her daughter "Annie" who gets paralyzed in a wreck that kills her mother (Heaven) and father, then is physically and mentally abused by a hired nurse, then by her great-grandfather (same step-grandfather) who then tries to rape her.
This is all sprinkled with a generous helping of plot twists a' la "the man she thought was her father isn't really" / "this person is dead BUT WAIT no he's not, he changed his name and is living in "hiding" / close sibling/friend/other relation to the protagonist dies a horrible death" sort of thing.

Also, only the half the series and the 2 before it were actually written "by" V.C. Andrews, the rest were written by Andrew Neiderman, who was (somewhat disturbingly) a former schoolteacher and the author of The Devil's Advocate starring Keanu Reeves and a bunch of other ppl I don't remember right now.

I’m reading some comments on her YT and no one mentions the Norma tapes. Has people forgotten or does she delete them as fast as they’re coming?
