This was my train of thought when I saw the sphere case:

>Displaying boxes for keyboards and Graphics cardsIt doesn't really matter. If having RGB lighting on their computer makes someone happy, then by all means they can do whatever they want. I personally have a workstation that's more expensive than 99% of gaming computers, and it has a black case with the only RGB being that built into the side of my GPU that can't be removed. Its red light too, and I don't mind the ambience it creates.
I don't really understand the whole consumerist thing though. You know, buying one of these flashy cases and top-of-the-line components, buying a $500 "gaming chair", having light strips behind your monitors/desk to create passive lighting, having wood-themed anything, rainbow-colored mechanical keyboards with custom $50 keycaps, and anything else that only really serves a cosmetic purpose. Something like this:

It just screams at me that this person built this environment to lose themselves in entertainment and fill the hole that is their life with expensive shit. I can't see an environment like this being anything other than annoying to live in and only really useful for taking pictures of and posting with le epic title to r/battlestations or some other place where you'll get jacked off for having this.
Its a case of people creating these environments only for other people that have the environments themselves. The presentation value. The picture I uploaded was the very first post that I saw going on to r/battlestations to look for an example Here.
It just seems like something strange to show off. It isn't particularly thought provoking, nor is it a creation of their own hands. Maybe if it was a bare GPU PCB, or even just a plain GPU I could understand as you could appreciate the engineering and design of the component, but its just a plain sealed box, designed for marketing the product and outlining its features.>Displaying boxes for keyboards and Graphics cards
Yeah no that's just a lack of proper storage space. Also displaying a lone game next to a console like it's a museum artifact is pretty tacky.
There's also not enough driving sims to ever justify that wheel and shift set up either.
Also that floor is pretty dirty.
I know people who would disagree. There's also not enough driving sims to ever justify that wheel and shift set up either.
There's still some cases out there. Go on Newegg and search by 5.25" bays, if you want 2 or 3 you have some decent choice still.I'm usually not too bothered by epic gamer case design, but fuck me is it hard to find any modern mid tower case with 5.25" external drive bays. I get that optical media is yesteryear, but I like having the option for that or a card reader. I'm stuck in my old Rosewill Stealth at the moment because nothing new has more than 1 5.25" drive bay.

Whenever Newegg puts it on sale it's 40 bucks. All the bays and fans you'd ever want and no bullshit like exposed power buttons, windows or LEDs.
I have one of these sitting in storage that I keep meaning to use for a build sooner or later.I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'd probably want to do that with an eMachines case though.
You're going to need to up your cigarette consumption if you want to get the whole thing that nice toasty color.I have one of these sitting in storage that I keep meaning to use for a build sooner or later.

I think some people who go that far fit the bill of "just trying to fill the hole," but you have some which are just genuinely rich as fuck and that's what they want. Seems like awhile back there was an article about an American football player who'd just signed a multimillion-dollar contract right out of college and he said the first thing he was going to buy was this 60,000 USD gaming station he'd wanted. To me at least that makes more sense than going out and buying a 500,000 USD car just to get you from point A to point B.It doesn't really matter. Good eye, there's a lot of little weird stuff in that photo. The Amazon box under the TV. The white minifridge halfway covered with stickers. Even the wrapped-up cords on one of the bottom shelves by the TV look to be ziptied instead of just using twist ties or wrapping them like this:>Displaying boxes for keyboards and Graphics cards

What's the name of that card reader/USB/temperature thing in the top bay?
link fucked broI have nearly zero knowledge about these things so here's the original post.
What the fuck even is that, Cherenkov radiation? When you get right down to it, there's a lot of tacky people out there. You can still see it in neocities and tumblr where money isn't an issue in designing your personal space, its just your own imagination.
I think a humble wooden case can work if it's not filled with 3000 LEDs. There's something elegant about them that if paired with a modest computer set up looks lovely, an ikea computer.

There's also custom cases that ARE on the gaudy side but they cross over into awesome with craftsmanship and concept you can't help but enjoy them.

It's hard to say a SHODAN case isn't awesome.
Lastly, I encourage everyone to follow their dreams. This rocks aside from the glowy fans:

What is the video card?Just do what I did and build your computer into outdated office equipment. Therefore you can invite people into your office and they won't think you're a massive autist.
Ignore terrible cable management. I'm too poor to buy a modular PSU.
