I saw that same interview. Very cringe. They're playing him for a gag. He's a clown to them. A puppet.

He became the very thing he used to parody. I wonder how many more Youtubers will go this route. It’s a fascinating case study.
As for Jenna I only knew about her from Tumblr crying about how problematic she was.

I have a feeling she got the LA Mansion because of Julien, who is clearly still into the whole "YouTube" thing. When the two of them canceled their podcast about a month ago, Jenna sounded relieved and happy, whereas Julien was audibly in tears over it. It's stuff like that that makes me think they aren't the best match.
I think that Jenna was attached to YouTube over the past few years because of Julien's enthusiasm for it, to be honest. She finally had enough, and I don't blame her whatsoever. That said, a lot of Jenna's fans have commented on Julien's videos, saying stuff like "I watch you because of Jenna ... Without her, there's no point in watching." That's got to be a blow to his ego. Hopefully he doesn't resent Jenna for quitting.
Fun fact about her being childless: She was on record saying how badly she wanted kids multiple times up until a few years ago. Then, she went silent about it for a while, and a bunch of fans started to ask personal questions about it via Twitter. She eventually addressed those questions on the podcast, saying that it's a "very personal matter," and also saying to "please drop it."
People have speculated that she may not even be able to have kids based on her response. In which case, that's extremely sad, and very different from childless millennials who proudly show their disdain over the responsibility of raising kids.

she bought that house a year and a half ago ish. Before that she was just renting. I wonder if she wanted a gaited community because she used to have fans try to visit her at her old house.

She made several of these type of videos about women, too ("What a girls' nails mean," "What a girl's shoes mean," "What a girls' jewelry means," etc etc etc) ... And she made fun of herself in those videos as well.
It's as if the videos were just lighthearted jokes, or something ...

She still gets around 4.5 million views on a channel she hasn't used for over a year. She's still bringing in thousands a month so it's not like it mattered that she "quit".
