President Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for helping broker a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, according to a report.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament and chairman to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, submitted the nomination, Fox News reported.

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, told Fox News.

In his letter to the Nobel Committee, Tybring-Gjedde wrote that the Trump administration has played a key role in the establishment of relations between the two nations.

“As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity,” he wrote, Fox News reported.

I'm really hoping to see a political ad now were they show Trump getting the nomination and then show Biden voting for the Iraq War.
 
Trump deserves it. Not sure theres been anyone trying for peace harder tbh. Between defeating ISIS, peace deal signed with the Taliban, moving troops out of the middle east, truces signed in the Balkans and UAE, attempting to get NK to stop being so nutty and insisting the war fought between the US and China be an economic one vs a violent one, I seriously doubt anyone has done more for peace throughout the world than the head of the Global Police Force.

Naturally this means he won't win it.

Here I am still waiting for Kanye West to get his Presidential Medal Of Freedom. If Ellen Degeneres and Joe Biden can get one, so can Kanye.

As far as Trump being nominated for one, I remember back in late 2016/early 2017 there was talk that he was supposed to be nominated then. It’s interesting they waited this long to nominate him almost four years later.

technically Norway is not a part of EU
still, the peace prize has meant nothing since terrorist Mandela received one
I would love Trump to receive it tho, imagine the anguish it would cause among TDSers

A friend of mine was pissed at hearing this news, asking if this was a joke. And said to her that he helped Israel/UAE and North/South Korea relations, and shrunk ISIS territory. She got all pissy and said, "Where did you hear that, from the news?"
I'm like "yeah, i heard it from all sorts of news outlets."
 
This is all a sideshow anyway, there's no way Trump is even going to be considered by the organization that gave Barack Obama the Nobel Prize In Not Being George W. Bush.

Na, its really just Sweden that's cucked. Denmark is practically goosestepping by continuing to proudly serve haram meals of pork at school, along with other measures to force cultural assimilation on their "refugees." As to Norway, I haven't heard anything in a while, but that place is probably too fucking cold for many migrants, and unlike Sweden all their wealth from natural resources comes from oil... which means they really can't open up a money spigot for a major influx, not when prices are relatively fixed thanks to shale forcing a price ceiling.

Norway was also the country where a male politician got raped by a Somali asylum seeker and then expressed guilt that his cooperation with the police led to his rapist being deported, so yeah....

Edit to add: I think Teddy Roosevelt is one of the best leaders in history. His conservation policy was incredible, his oration was inspiring, and his legacy untouchable. That doesn't make him worthy of a peace prize. My nigga loved war and never pretended otherwise.

In case you think I'm just against Obama getting one because I hate Obama, I'm not. I think good leaders and peace are tentative friends at best.

Roosevelt didn't get it for his conservation policy, but for helping to arrange the end of the Russo-Japanese War. And he wasn't even president at the time, but still only the VP.


I think Obama was a lazy choice, almost like, they didn't feel like sitting down and voting, so they were just like, "meh, let's just give it to Obama."

And let's not forget there have been other winners and nominees who sucked donkey balls. Didn't somebody once nominate Hitler? Because if so, the award pretty much jumped the shark a looooong time ago. (No, Trump is not Hitler. Kaiser Willy, maybe)

Are you sure you're not mixing the Nobel Peace Prize with TIME's "Person of the Year"? Because Hitler won that one in 1938.
"Person of the Year" is for people who were important during said year, regardless if said importance was for good or bad reasons.

Medal of Freedom is in no way comparable to Nobel Prize. It’s basically the “President likes you” award.
