New Halo: Infinite song. This one is by far the best i've heard. Feels very A Walk In The Woods/Heretic Hero with a dash of Farthest Outpost. I admit i'm surprised they remembered that Halo was more than orchestral war drums and chants. https://youtube.com/watch?v=mBvWZjoW06k
Looks like they remembered that the real magic of halo is that the OST is 99% two different main themes rehashed into appropriate soundtracks.
Spirit of fire remains one of my favorites aside from ODST and Scorpion mix.

Through the Trees also reminds me of "Perchance to Dream".

It also hits the same as Halo 3's tracks, which is a good milestone back to where we once were.

That's a nice composition, but the mix is disgusting. It is both washed out and distorted like fuck. Someone threw in a brickwall limiter without thinking about what they were actually doing. The dynamic range is flattened like a pop song. The bass range is muddy. Listen real close to 0:38 through 0:52. They pumped up the EQ in the bass without looking at the entire gain structure and whether or not they were hitting the wall.

MCC Multiplayer on PC is so fucking cancerous if you play with K&M. Almost every person I play up against or with are all usually using controller and the aim assists for controllers is so damn high it's really easy to rack up kills, and considering that I usually play on Slayer it's unfair. (:_(

Been playing Halo 2 Anniversary.

Halo 2 has always been a disappointment to me, maybe my hype was too high, but I just remember thinking the game wasn't as good as I was expecting, however one of my disappointments with the game was it's graphics, this was that awkward late period of the original Xbox's life where devs were trying to push things too far and some games just had a plastic look to them I found unappealing, Mechassault 2 was the same way, the only game that pulled it off was Riddick.

Now with graphics that are 1000 times better it makes the game more enjoyable for me, I know it's taboo to say better graphics make for a better game but well... it's true.

But graphics aside I also didn't like how much more linear the game was than the first and this is still a problem I have, from what I understand Bungie couldn't have both "better" graphics and those wide open levels of the first Halo on the original Xbox's hardware, so they made the wrong decision to focus on graphics that didn't look good anyway.

And finally I just find the Arbiter's levels kind of boring, I much prefer playing as the Chief.

So Halo 2 remains a mixed bag but the new coat of paint, not to mention the gorgeous CGI cutscenes mean I'm enjoying the game more than I ever have before, it's a solid game even if it wasn't quite all it could have been, but it feels nice to finally make peace with Halo 2 after all this time.

There's aim assist for controllers? Guess that explains why I've been doing much better than I expected in multiplayer then!

To MCC? not likely, halo 5 is definitely not coming from the Microsoft store to steam anytime soon.

Why the taboo for bringing that to PC when all the others are on PC now? I guess I'll never play it if it remains exclusive to the Xbox consoles.

I know it got a mixed reception but for completionist sake it would be nice to still play it.

Halo 5 is on pc, but only forge and multiplayer. Halo 5 is doing well enough on its own to be on the low priority end. It may come to steam. But definitely not for awhile. There's ALOT to accomplish first, finishing MCC will allow them to move employees around, infinite has time to fester so its medium priority, Halo wars 2 (My favorite game in all of halo) is on the backburner and is likely to get a steam port just barely before infinite to help people catch up to who the banished are, halo 5 will like come after that.

On the CRT televisions in use at the time it didn't look too bad to me. But then again, 100% of my time on Halo 2 on the original Xbox was spent at 320x240 or 640x240. So fine detail was not necessary or even visible.

I never had an Xbox so I never played campaign, only split screen multiplayer over System Link at my friend's house.

If it doesn't happen before Infinite I question why even bother, as the main thing I care about is simply getting up to speed on the series' storyline, which can be done by just a Wikipedia summary.

Still, like I said it feels weird to think of never playing, so I guess I want it to happen eventually.

I thought it was a joke but apparently 343i have removed the New Mombasa Police nameplate.

Seriously? It was still in there as recently as a week or so ago, I remember thinking "there's something you wouldn't see today" but if they really removed that sucks as it was a cool logo and that's just going to be a big, ugly blank wall now.

Why are people so absolutely fucking retarded these days?

This shit is also straight out of George Orwell, the Ministry of Truth rewriting the past to serve the present narratives, all the liberals comparing George W Bush to Big Brother back in the 2000s now look like the biggest fucking retards.

It just didn't look appealing to me, I had the same exact thoughts about Mechassault 2 at the time, blurry textures in the name of bump mapping, it just didn't seem like a good trade off to me when you compared it to the razor sharp texture of games like Ninja Gaiden.

Some games managed to pull off the "proto-7th gen" look though like Riddick and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, so I have no idea why first party Microsoft games weren't able to.

Microsoft did manage to release one last great looking first party game for the Xbox though, Conker: Live & Reloaded, but that's Rare's talent for you.
