Diversity for the sake of diversity is just pandering. Having diverse characters while actually making them good characters is what people should strive for. A multicultural cast means nothing when they're all devoid of any personality.

What Dobson does is have the exact same character over and over in different colors, or this bullshit of literally having characters wear a flag of their sexual orientation, the only thing they have for a personality.
That's not diversity, that's just shit.

Only if your brain pumps way more power into suspending disbelief to keep you immersed in the story. Arbitrary diversity is by definition arbitrary so has the potential to make absolutely no sense in the context of the setting.

Wouldn't be Dobby Bear if he didn't sound hypocritical in his straw man arguments. Just the other day he was whining about squeezable boobs on an action figure like a feminist would and now he's telling people they shouldn't complain about feminists having options! Smh...

Eh, to me, an all-white and/or all-male cast is less believable and ruins my immersion in any story (unless it's about a 19th-century Icelandic male prison or something).
But the last person who needs to be talking about this is Mr. "All My Characters Are Stereotypes" Dobson. None of his characters of any race or gender or sexual orientation are anything but cardboard.
Except for that angry art school professor, maybe.

I said arbitrary diversity not diversity in general, I presumed he was referring to Polygon complaints about the lack of POCs in Witcher 3 and the studio saying they consulted historians extensively with the game.
