That's the thing that gets me I'm seeing far more resistance to wearing a mask for at best a couple hours when shopping then I am to the actual lock downs.
Everyone going "muh slippery slope" is ether ignoring or doesn't know we did the same things we're doing now when the Spanish Flu hit.
I don't know if it's just ignorance or another failure of the education system.

Conservatives think they're hot shit and will start Civil War 2.0 but they can't wear a piece of fabric over their faces. I've only ever seen one nurse pass out from hypercapnia, and she was doing our usual double PPE thing.

The common thread I see is facemask, then quarantining, then quarantining becomes never going out and socializing, only getting information from the news, then it somehow becomes vaccinating your children, then it somehow becomes biochips and then the end of days /the Shoah / some other gay shit like that idk

I can tell you exactly where it comes from.
Back when my Nani was still alive, she had these shitty evangelical 'Left Behind' books, and one of the major plot points was that a Romanian dude, Nicolae Carpathia (literally named after the fucking mountains in Romania) was the Antichrist, and instituted an order that every citizen of the Global Community (the NWO) had to receive a biochip (the Mark of the Beast). This has become such a fucking huge thing that every wingnut I know subscribes to it.
I do not believe in book-burning as a principle, but if I could go back in time and retroactively destroy the manuscripts for those wretched pieces of (((literature))), I would do it without hesitation and put their authors to the gun.

I never really got the anti-vax thing. Minor PL- my great-aunt is severely autistic, and grew up in a time where autism was hardly understood. I love my aunt, even if i barely understand her and sometimes she frustrates me with her behavior. The fact that someone can look between preventable diseases that can cause severe discomfort for MULTITUDES of people, and possibly even death in some disease's case or at a young enough age, and then look at what can sometimes be even a minor developmental disorder, and say 'I would rather expose everyone around me to measles or polio', is true autism. I would much rather have a child that deals with life differently due to autism than one who dies at 3 from a preventable disease or suffers permanent complications from early-life polio, but then maybe I'm just 'intolerant'.
MATI me but it's an issue that personally offends me on a deep level.

In regards to the quarantines people say they'll keep finding new reasons to extend the quarantines indefinitely because pod capsules. * I mean okay, some Leftwing mayors are being dicks about this and the media scaremongering about "muh new normal" isn't helping but the fact that every nation and billionaire is rushing to get a vaccine out pokes a giant hole in that conspiracy *

Im pretty liberal but lets get real. Look at fucking Seattle, Portland and Minneapolis. And any other city that's had riots and shit especially where they had the police pull back, not just to not escalate the violence during the actual riots, but for extended periods of time afterwards, saying "let them have that area". Politicians do this shit all the time when they deem it necessary, whether theyve accurately weighed pros and cons or not.
In current year, there is no "political suicide". Shits so polarized that youre either with us or against us. The battle lines have been drawn and nobody is really going to budge at this point; except maybe, maybe the people who hadnt picked a side, who decide they want to ante up or something.
Its well known politically people will vote for an incumbent they dont like anymore, or a nominee they dont like or agree with, just in order to keep "the other guy" from getting in. It's been that way for a long time, longer than my entire life.

Minor PL here, but, i'm from a shitty 3rd world country and it's really sad how kids from the poorest and most isolated communities usually die at young age because they can't get any vaccines at all, despite being mostly free where i live, and reading how some Americans are paranoid if not flat out terrified about the idea of their children being vaccinated, it feels so surreal

I personally have pretty much all the vaccinations you can get (except the weird ones like smallpox, Ebola, anthrax, etc), but I first figure out if any random on the Internet has a legitimate problem with them, and the risks are almost always very low. The problem with current SARS-CoV-2 vaccines is that they have almost no testing, that's the problem. Vaccines *can* be dangerous if you mess them up.

Covid-19 also is a highly mutative virus. The simple fact, one touted by ACTUAL MEDICAL EXPERTS, is that a vaccine will only be temporarily effective. A more sustainable long-term solution is antiviral medication and proper education.

A bunch of our kids currently aren't getting vaccines due to a lot of public health shit being closed. Including my clinic.
