As somebody that only properly started browsing this year, is this not an accurate description?
Every other site is frontloaded with actors pushing selective info to shape opinion. This one collects as much as it can find and verifies it. Why wouldn't academics value it as a source? I think it's just a symptom of how the media portrays violence and how that skews our perception of it, so real violence often doesn't look "real" enough unless it's particularly graphic.

Media violence rarely shows what it actually looks like. Media violence is pristine and clean, real violence rarely is. Couch Cuck looks fake because you rarely see the blood and brains pool like that after a headshot in the media. You also don’t see the muscles go limp like Couch Cuck’s in the media. I believe in that case there really was a copious amount of blood shed, but it wasnt visible because he didn't stick around and stare long enough for it to soak through their clothes and pool. The really bizarre thing is, that's what makes it most real. I can buy a good conspiracy, but I'd never call that one fake, because any special effects guy would have at least made the blood obviously visible.

I remember after the Christchurch shooting there being some other weird video clips of victims from one of the sites filming from the floor, amongst other victims, or some footage from a similar drill or mosque violence, that was able to easily mislead people when claimed it was from the main one he shotup in realtime POV on Facebook. Also tons of doctored footage released to support various 'truthertainment' grifters' sensationalist narratives. Honestly, it just supports the need for early, established, authoritative archival by dedicated autists of anything like this, and proves Null's stubborness in support of non-deletion totally correct

Why does real shit look so fake?

A mixture of ragdoll and how 'plastic'/'clean' he looks. Media messily exaggerates it: people explode when getting by cars, heads explodes on gunshots, a room suddenly fills up with up with blood if someone gets stabbed, and so on. Real life is more... brutal while looking 'clean', like for example, people smash inwards when hit by a vehicle but still look fine outside of that. A bullet will just fly through you with some blood following and pooling, not make you explode in a huge shower of blood. And body physics are just weird, either they follow the bullet's motions, go wild, or just plop to the ground.
