i am so fucking confused. what kid thinks in these terms?? i teach children and i can tell you that this shit would go straight over their heads. yes you can teach them what these terms mean, but they're not going to understand or fucking use them in real life.

I was a 90s kid. Trans issues weren't really on the radar, but sexism and sexual discrimination were the buzz-words at the time. The girls (and a few of the boys) in my high school class would always throw out lines like "This is sexual harassment-- and I DON'T have to take it!" anytime they felt like it. Most often, it was just a sign that they didn't like who they were talking to and throwing out the BIG SCARY words was enough to shut people up.

Bottom line, I agree. You can teach kids the words, but without the real-life experience, they'll just use the words like toys. You know, like tumblrinas do.
