That was Chagen46 (Link from ED: NSFW).

Fast Eddie was a lolcow in his own right, in how he sockpuppeted TWO admin accounts in addition to his own, and how he tried in vain to enforce a no-criticism, drama-avoidant policy in the site (which got abused to the heavens by tropers and mods alike), how he regularly fucked up with the coding of his site, and in general just how he pretended to be someone he wasn't (he claimed he live in the Bahamas, but every evidence suggested otherwise). There were whispers in the corridors that he used to be one big drama whore in the forums of Buffy The Vampire Slayer (those forums begot TV Tropes), but whatever evidence was unfortunately lost to the mists of time.

its a shame that those buffy forums were lost, could have dug up some epic lulz
 
OK, I'll admit it. I am a regular poster in the TV Tropes forum and have no intention to ever stop doing so. It helps that I stay away from the more moronic portions of the forum.

The fact is, though, the forum is pretty much full of fuckin' morons. Some of them, luckily, end up banned. Some don't. The general bias of most tropers is pretty evident as well. If you don't have their interests you're pretty much an outcast on those forums unless you find somebody who does. (Thankfully, there are a few sane people there.)
 
Has anyone checked the TVT fanfic recommendation pages before? I went there checking for funny shit to read once.

There's so much blatant self-plugging in there it's not even funny. That's not to speak of the boring, "troperiffic" garbage stories, most of which are edgy as all hell or involve fucking self-insert mary sues, that are constantly masturbated to and get fucking honorary pages.

What makes this worse is that even though they supposedly have rules on authors not pimping their own works, they are almost never enforced.

I also mourn the fact the Darth Wiki had the horrible fanfiction pages removed. A lot of it was bitter complaining, but some of it was really good exposes of horribly written shit. From what I understand, the DarthWiki was severely pruned by Fast Eddie due to his DRPK level insistence on "Happiness Is Mandatory", which basically translates to "I want a hugbox free of negativity".

Unfortunately, that's especially noticeable on the fanfic recommendations pages which are basically HIM on a nauseating level, especially since you aren't allowed to remove anything that is horribly written since that might upset someone and spergs can pimp glowing praise of their Mary Sue fantasies (or those written by their friends) with little consequence for doing so.

Chagen was pretty disgusting and horrifying. I remember him saying he had urges to rape little girls of something like that. Sick fuck.

Sure did, and a lot of it is awful, as anyone can expect. I have to admit I did find the occasional good work there, though it took so long to find it felt quite like searching for diamonds in a sea of shit.

Yeah, there's some genuinely good stuff in there. As good as fanfiction can be, anyway.
But you'd expect "recommendations" to have some sort of standard to them. Like, hey, I should recommend stuff that I believe the average person coming into this page looking for something to read will enjoy, because that's the whole point of recommending things. But then self-insert crap is in there. Hell, I think I even saw a recommendation for a freaking futa story once.
It's no different than going to FF.net if I'm gonna have to swim through oceans of trash to find something that isn't a masturbatory fantsasy of some sort. Well, in this case it's more of a large pudddle of trash, but trash nonetheless.

On another topic, idiots who use trope names in normal conversation. I've met a few online and IRL.

I don't mind these when the actual meaning of them is obvious from the name, but far too many trope names are inside jokes that nobody would recognize or understand without an explanation.

For instance, I think most people, or at least most comics fans, would recognize what a Batman Gambit is, in context. After all, Batman is hugely famous and almost everything he does is one. A Xanatos Gambit? Not really, unless they're fans of Gargoyles or tropers.

Almost all the Zelda fanfics they recommend are shitty since they fuck up the zelda timeline and don't realize that there are two "zelda universes".
For those unfamiliar, our hero travled through time and created to alternate timelines. One where he became a hero and saved the land from the villain, Ganondorf and the other one which was his original timeline where he stopped Ganondorf before he could take over.
Saria, one of the characters becomes a sage in the former timeline but doesn't in the original timeline yet most fanfics that take place in the latter timeline treat it like she is a sage.
/sperging rant.
 
The large amount of pseudo-intellectuals on TV Tropes is sad. That site could've been interesting, but the community makes you feel like a sperg for going there.

I don't think this guy understands that the kind of people who pretend to have 20 different genders, are triggered by everything, hate gay men because of homonormativity or some shit, and think glancing at a woman is rape are on his side, or whatever he thinks his side is. Most people don't hate activists. SJWs aren't activists, plain and simple.
 
Social Justice Warrior is only pejorative and sarcastic. Nobody ever uses it any other way. It's not even a bad-connotations word like feminism, which is the name of an actual movement with phases and a traceable history. Social Justice Warrior is just for bleating hysterical agoraphobic teenagers and overgrown teenagers that mostly don't do anything. Why would actual activists even want it, they don't have any obligation to make SJW a positive term any more than a dog owner is obligated to defend furries.

My feeling is that they have co-opted many good causes and turned them to shit either out of ignorance or by attention seeking. I'd imagine many of us would be supportive of real equality, not the parody pushed by SJWs. I'm glad that person is trying to own the SJW label by using it for himself. Saves me having to discern real social justice proponents from the lunatic narcissists.
