How exactly are they tagging their porn so kids can't find it? I mean, tagging stuff nsfw is nice for people who can download blacklist and blacklist that tag if they don't want to see it, but that only works if a person creates a blacklist to block it. I know you can mark a blog as adult content, but does that actually stop your stuff from showing up in searches?
I'd assume something like #pearlnsfw or similar.

Marking your blog as adult content makes it not show up in Tumblr's search and tagging system unless you're signed in and enable it.
Info here.
I don't know if it affects any off-site search system.

Some fandoms only tag NSFW art under a specific tag which has all NSFW content for that fandom or character, without putting it in the main tags (like #steven universe, #character name, etc.). It's a holdover from the time before you could choose to use the "safe" version of tags, excluding NSFW flagged blogs. So, theoretically, if you wanted to see NSFW art, you'd know what tag track, but you'd only be able to browse for that content in one place. However, if you use the character's name anywhere in the text or tags of the post, it can still show up in /search or the (very broken) mobile version, so this idea doesn't work so well anymore.

For the record, I found the NSFW tag pretty quickly.

And to think, they were worried about the porn the Bronies would bring.

I don't know why, but the name Stephen Galaxy has me laughing like a nutso.

Damn son, where'd ya find this?

The pokeporn spergs use a tag "porkyman" instead of the normal spelling so it doesn't get indexed with the more searched tag. I'm not sure how effective that is. I think a lot of the work SafeSearch does re gross fanart involves some level of manually tweaking it and filtering shit reported to them.

>pokeporn
Do you mean R34 of characters, or porn of actual pokemon? Because the latter is much stranger.

As a Pokemon sperg, I can assure you plenty of people just tag their porn as Pokemon.

Also if one thing can be said about bronies its that they do safe search wrap up (they all search a certain term on Google with the safe search on a certain day of the month and flag nsfw stuff that comes up in mass). SU fans need to get on that shit.
