Steven Universe Fandom

I've heard the Total Drama Island fandom is pretty nuts as well.
As someone who was actually harassed by the Total Drama fandom on tumblr, I can definitely say that they are INCREDIBLY fucking nuts, much like the Steven Universe fandom. There are actually a lot of people who act like fucking Vade of all people in the fandom, especially the more popular members of the fandom. There's also a troll that's known to be pretty awful and I was also harassed and gaslighted by the troll in that fandom too. They all literally bullied me out of the Total Drama fandom for fuck's sake on tumblr all because I did not agree with every single opinion that they had.

I didn't even know TDI had a big following. I only watched that show out of sheer boredom, a time back when I barely knew Tumblr even existed back in 2010.

Oh how blissfully ignorant we all used to be. :story:

I never watched this cartoon and never will. The fans have completely destroyed the little interest I had in the show. The fans even made a worker on the show delete his social media account. Sad.

Seriously? And I thought bronies were bad.
I usually don't like to describe things like this as "autistic," but goddamn, that is a very stereotypical Tumblr full of many autistic posts. And again, they did more than make him delete his social media account, they've sent things to show staff in the mail about how much they hate what they did.

Honest question: Isn't that the point of flagging your blog "adult-oriented"? So people who are looking for general fandom stuff don't accidentally run into porn?
but that would require having to give up all their followers, because they are all usually 14 year olds. But seriously, they never tag their porn or anything most of the time

I watched a few episodes of TDI, didn't see what the fuss was all about.

Then these people will whine and wonder the show was canceled. At some point the shows staff will say fuck it and stop working on it if this keeps up.

I used to watch TDI when it came with the sibs (11 at the time) and haven't since then. It was alright i admit, but I'm sure that there are crazy tumblrite fans out there for it over the age of 30.

The comments on my post about the Steven Universe fandom are drawing out some pretty booty-blistered Tumblrites.

I'm guessing "job" means "patreon where people pay me to be a whiny shit 24/7 because these morons will splooge over anyone playing victim"

Maybe a minor one but The Simpsons has it's fair share of crap. Especially NoHomersClub and the like. They're pretty much the cleeeesic Sanic fans in that they revere the older seasons like they were an infallible work of art to the point of rating episodes on different scales depending on time. So for instance a "modern" 5/5 is only the same as a cleeeesic 2/5 or something like that. Bonus points for starting fights over nothing and having a mod (username changes but actualy name Jake Lennington or something like that) who is so fucking biased and under the impression that the show would be saved by a fourth "pimpin'" kid to the family. Also he got blocked by a girl on DA for being creepy, I think.

Of course, even with their faux intellectual superiority they can't stick with it. One minute it'll be whining about how it's just like Family Guy now... and next minute they're singing their praises for that crossover that's literally a FG episode or some of the most utterly insipid episodes to come out of the entire show.

So yeah, pretentious assholes. :V

You don't mean - simpspin, do you??? That guy actually has a likely dead now site dedicated to his BS spinoff idea.

I think in all good honesty, you should give it a chance. After last season finale my dashboard was literally obliterated with SU posts and how AWESOME AND SPECIAL IT IS AND MY GEMS ARE PRECIOUS sort of bullcrapery, it drove me nuts, but then I was like ''what the fuck, I'll give it a chance'' and I'm glad I did. Start is bit of slowish, but it gets really good as story progresses.

Actually, their more recent argument has been that bronies don't tag their porn, so it always pop up when THE CHILDREN search mlp and THE CHILDREN get bombarded by porn.

I think parents, especially in this age should fucking be mindful of what they children are doing on internet, especially if they are underage as fuck.

What grinds my gears the most about this whole lolcow stampede is the bizarre sense of ownership these people have over a TV show. They're so outright hostile to anyone else joining their "sooper sekrit staven uvinerse club" that they do their best to drive off any potential new fans who aren't SJWs. I can't stand anything that describes itself as a "fandom." Fandoms invariably produce so much drama that interacting with them becomes a chore. Thank GodBearJesus that I get all the SU community interaction I need from /co/ generals. When the 4chan wing of your online community is by far the sanest, there's a problem.

Ah yes, never ending curse of being part of a fandom. Thankfully I only mingled with TF2 fandom ever since I joined Tumblr, and even there you couldn't avoid of being a part of a drama, but even then it was pretty tame when it happened. But as time more passed, this SJW bullshit really took a huge swing and I found myself stranded in that hellhole.

I'm also bolding last part of your post, because *gasp* it's almost like anonymity gives you chance to be yourself nowadays.

Tiny Toons
Animaniacs
Powerpuff Girls
Danny Phantom

Those are the big ones I recall.

PPG is of course Lauren Faust-related, like MLP.

One you missed is the Rescue Rangers fandom, which has some genuinely disturbing members. They have a real hellhole of a site called The Acorn Cafe. (Link to wiki article rather than direct to site.) I don't think they're terribly active but they're almost all absolutely terrible people.

What's ironic is that tumblr complains about all the mlp porn yet there was a tumblrette trend thing with making a male character from SU (lars) into a female only for porn sake (I have ran into some of it on tumblr) and when I reacted like every normal human does when encountering porn of a kids show unintentually "WTF" and I got the response "Ya this is actually a trend" there is plenty of porn just by simply searching "steven universe".

This is incidentally basically bullshit. Unless you have SafeSearch off and go out of your way to find it, the Google Image Search results are pretty tame.

What is true, though, is that Google to some degree tailors its search results based on what you've searched for in the past, so if some tumblard is constantly complaining about scat, vore, inflation and other sick kill-yourself-tier fetish shit, they're basically admitting they've searched for all that shit.

Also, they're quick to say "Everyone's Google results are different," which has the same conclusion.

The Animaniacs fandom was the worst. I remember back in the days of early YouTube (07-09) they would make amvs with horrible metal music and ugly ass Ocs. They also had this creepy obsession with Yakko and made desperate petitions to bring the show back.

It does look interesting, but
-I don't watch many cartoons that are on now except with my younger sib.
-Fandom (kinda of an excuse since some shows are great with terrible fans)

SU doesn't look like a cartoon that's made for children. More of a teen crowd. I probably will give it a chance and end up liking it like I did with Rick and Morty

SU is slowly crossing border of children/teen, mainly due to lot of references, however its still pretty innocent. But people feeling entitled to a show, especially one thats on goddamn cartoon network is bonkers.

I also understand fandom part, more than once I was turned away because people are super obnoxious about stuff. Just wanted to add than SU even with its fanbase is quite good.

Edit: quick grammar fix, typing on a phone sucks ass :V

SU would probably work better if it were a mini-series.

I swear, I feel so incredibly bad for Lauren. All she wanted to do was make a show that inspired little girls. Then the man-children happened

I really don't, she's made more money of man-childs than she ever would have with her target market. When you make things that might get popular you kind of expect this shit, and really I doubt she'd be too surprised if she remembered the porn people drew of PPG.
