Don’t forget this classic!
At least a bucket full of spit can't be retroactively changed and stripped of its essential personality. It was gross then, and it's gross now, but at least it has always been consistently gross. The characters in this webcomic have no consistency, they've been gutted of anything that made them initially enjoyable to read about.

Looking back at it, Homestuck^2 is way worse than the original Homestuck for a completely different reason. It doesn't have the same "charm" the original had, with its shitty fanbase of cosplay croons, buckets and faygo. That kind of shit is priceless.

This. my attention span with webcomics is way shorter than it is with books and while problem sleuth was fine it was annoying having to read all of those pesterlogs in homestuck so I just skipped most of them lol. I still kinda got the story though. the ending and everything after has been garbage

I didn't have that problem with the beta kids pesterlogs, but the alpha kids pesterlogs were infuriating. They were way too long and boring and there was pointless annoying teenage romantic drama that didn't go anywhere. Having them start at 16 was a mistake.

Having them be in the comic at all was a mistake. The mystery of not knowing and potentially never knowing made the parents stronger characters.

This plus the fact that they're just kind of shoved in your face. After all the characters you were introduced to before were developing (as shitty as they were anyway) they're just torn away from you and you're shown these Dollar General ripoffs with more romance drama than anything actually plot relevant...as plot relevant as anything in Homestuck can get, anyway.
I think they were just introduced to keep the fandom engaged since everyone knows the HS fandoms favorite thing is shipping and melodrama.

The alpha kids and especially the alpha trolls were one of the worst things to ever happen to the comic. I ended up giving up on reading it mid Act 6 because every single update felt like an absolute chore to get through - the only enjoyable updates were the few times things switched back over to the original cast.
I'm also still bitter that we could have gotten an Ancestors intermission or something and instead we got, well...

Thanks for the summary, dude. I never wanted to read this shitty webcomic anyway! Now, I know I probably said it before, but Homestuck^2 really doesn't have the same qualities the original Homestuck had... well, minus Act Six. But in all honesty, one of the few qualities Act Six had was Caliborn and Dirk, and maaaaaybeee Roxy. For starters, Caliborn was a neat antagonist because he was like a sorta mockery of the "hatedom" of Homestuck, which in turn made him one of the funniest characters in the comic, just his shitty doodles and actually decent points at times made me like him quite a bit.
Dirk has the same sort of qualities, although maybe it's just me but the fact that he (as Ultimate Dirk) calls out the writer(s) of Pesterquest for shit like Eridan's extremely unneeded gender arc was just pretty funny. Especially for people who hate Pesterquest and what the new writers are doing to Homestuck, you know, the actually sane people?
But Homestuck^2 is like an extended version of Act Six. The only characters I somewhat like are Harry (I like his design, okay?) and Meat!Roxy. And because I can, I nicknamed him 'Roxas' because it sounded cool and I didn't want to associate one of my favorite characters with shitty troonification.
Now with that load of aspergers out of the way, I guess I should like review the webcomic (from what I read) at least?
The art: Decent at best, I like the color choices sometimes and it replicates Homestuck's style quite neatly.

The actual story: What story? It's like a clusterfuck of Meat and Candy, if you want an actual story read the original Homestuck or any other story.

Some extras that peeved me greatly:
- It has the same problem as Homestuck Act Six with how textlogs go on for a fucking millennia.
- I wish John was still the main character, he's actually likable!
- Most of Pesterquest is Leftist Bullshit. (i.e: Vriska's Route)
- Kate. Just Kate. If Kate wasn't in control of most of the creative team then it would be only a sliver better than what we got now.
- The Epilogues exist.
- People were happy that Rose and Kanaya got together in the Homestuck ending but then got fucked over by the Epilogues, that's basically how it goes. Characters getting completely fucked over for no reason to be ~DEEP AND EDGY~.
- Remember how Dirk had a character arc about separating himself from Bro Strider and becoming a good person? Yeah....
Overall?
It's a solid meh. 6/10.

Fanfiction was a mistake
One of my favorite things about popping into this thread when I see it show up on the main page are absolute gems like these where I have zero context because I gave up on homestuck years ago but still check in on it at times. I just see “neon green dog cock” and I’m instantly filled with questions none of which I want answered.
