There actually are legit non-speaking autistic self advocates out there, some of whom are skilled writers. It's just Amanda wasn't one of them. Kinda like how there are legit LGBTQ people out there, but there are also transtrenders and other fakers.

I do think some kind of official confirmation of her death would be good, especially given all the scams she pulled. For all we know she's faking her death so she can start a new scam under a new identity.

I think legit mentally disabled people with serious issues like she tried to portray wouldn't even be able to explain their situation as eloquently as her. People with speech and learning issues usually doesn't even know something is wrong with them, let alone have enough brainpower to advocate about their condition. That's why I don't believe in anyone who claims to be severely mentally disabled and at the same time, is ''an advocate''.

i get where you are coming from, but that is not true, most, even severe disabled IF THEY ARE WORKED WITH and taught , they can sign, use pictures or acc devices, and they also do in fact communicate sand express themselves through face movements, gestures, behavior, sounds, many of them can advocate and communicate a decent bit, i know i spent many years with the disabled many were very severe mentally cognitive challenged, ... BUT they dont do it like amanda with her high level college levels of literacy and articulation.

hi, shanndog here, yeah laura, is a huuuge obese woman, that was amandas very close friend, a in she was like 500 pounds, ''supposedly'' she is autistic too, i heard in her youth she ran marathons, had a brown belt in martial arts of some form, she claims to have not talked until her teen years... i mean i dont know much about her other then what she told me when i met her a few times as well as what amanda had told me, shes very odd, i will say that, but she was pretty gross too-- she and amanda seemed to work together during her ''getting the word out'' and autistics.org phase, amanda used to tell me laura was like an older sister / another mother to her--- it was strange to say the least, and im guessing laura has stayed out of the lime light for so long because amanda's voice was over shadowing everyone elses, plus laura might have not wanted to be in spot light, plus laura was mostly home-bound for many many years and as far as i know she sill is.

I meant more with reporting and death notices when it comes to Covid-19, local news stuff can be stretched thin even in good times. But Vermont is not a hotspot and the state has very low numbers of covid-19 so they aren’t overwhelmed or anything.

All that said and there is no death notice for Amanda in Vermont that I can find.

In fact in the national obit database I can find Dalton Baggs who died April 20 and several other people with the surname Baggs that died in mid-April...but no Amanda.

The only caveat is that a lot of the National database is based upon published obits which do cost money to publish. But usually they will at least publish two lines for any death without charge. I know Amanda alienated people like a professional but I still think a short obit would be published by now.

i agree. yeah it got so bad between them and the overly controlling helicopter growth stifling parents, i completely cut myself off from the disabled community completely like in early 2000s.

yes, i met her twice, once shecame by my apartment when amanda was over with me and a disabled advocate marcy, and i met laura when amanda had me over for holiday meal that her howard services aide cooked and waited on amanda hand and foot..... i kinda think that is bullshit as far as laura being her caregiver, i think that was just part of the lies i know laura used to '' talk her through'' process and step by step stuff when she wanted to play up how cognitively disabled she was, i kinda think Amanda considers that care-giving, and laura did make phone calls for amanda and advocate for her sometimes.
